Guys, OPERAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, Opera is way better! :)
Well, I don't like chrome because it's too simplistic. Firefox 4 is a lot faster than the previous releases, and all the other browsers suck. (IE, Safari, etc)
Where are the Opera users that should support me!? Also, I have FF too because of some add-ons that I need on some games. But yeah, Opera is the best browser because I'm using it! :)
Not to derail the thread too much, but why do so many Scandinavians like Opera (like 80% of market share there or something crazy high), but the rest of the world isn't even close (like 1% at most in most countries)? Seems weird.
Uuuh, because Opera is made by Norwegians?
Also, Opera = meh. EVEN THOUGH I LIVE IN NORWAY, OMAGAWD HOW CAN I SAY THAT?
Slightly disappointed over the fact that the RC contains no new features, but I know it's borderline of me to expect that. Also, pretty weird that the FF beta didn't notify me that the RC was released?
I've just been running Minefield, the nightly since it was 3.7pre. It most definitely has come a long way and it makes me feel not guilty about purposefully using FF over Chrome like 3.6 was starting to make me do. Now I'm safe to say that this is better and whatnot.
I'd rather hear some reasons why they stink than just pure bitching. Chromes simplicity is what I love about it. The average computer user don't need anything more than what Chrome shows. Back button, forward button, refresh, home, URL-bar with quick bookmarking and a button for settings. What more do you need? For light-weight computers Chrome is god.
While everyone are entitled to their own opinions, I find it childish to say "everything but my favourite sucks" without stating reasons.
But hey, that's just my opinion!
EDIT: Hmm, I didn't quite see that (except for chrome, opera, firefox) part. But my opinion is still stays the same. :)
Your the type of guy that would get a virus and say oh.. I just need a simple antivirus to fix it (norton, avg or mcafee).. That sir is a load of Male cow shit.. The average user uses more features than u think.. thats the reason a person gets a smart phone over a samsung flip phone..
Chrome has the worst security ever, lacks plugins, and some great features are missing.. There isnt even a need to say why Internet explorer sucks.. As for safari I know it sucks cuz I use a hackintosh all the time and safari has no security (for windows).. If you download custom iphone software (on the mac part), it WILL remove parts of it essentially fucking up your brand new iphone. (PS I worked at the apple store before)
Want me to explain why netscape sucks too? doubt i needa explain that..
As for ranks... I'd rank it:
1. Firefox
2. Opera.
There is no other.. If you want details on security you can search that.. or make me explain in a long post again.
Maybe these link will help some people out.

I tried it out but I think Chrome is still faster. Also, Firefox is looking more and more like Chrome these days.
Guys why bother arguing?.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!.Quote:

People are happy with IE 6(7,8,9) & Safari simply because they don't know better. They don't know about security, they don't know of the burden they put on web developers. ``Power users'' going to chrome seems like a silly statement, since Chrome removes most of the tweaking and customising firefox offers. Power users that don't customise or tweak are not power users.
Hence why this is posted on a nerd forum?
Most of the SRL users know alot of coding and therefore use firefox for that reason.
Chrome is part with Avast Antivirus, so now its becoming more of an advertisement for other companies can use. Firefox and Opera are not for the "average user" but can be used as a regular browser for better plugins, and email support, that google chrome doesn't have.
(i know google chrome has plugins, there just all knock offs from firefox)
So before you begin to rant on being such a fanboy for google chrome, take the time to research your browser. You still have to see how much memory it uses for EACH tab you open.
But you wouldn't know anything abou that since you are an "average user"
Firefox don't suck. Chrome don't suck. Internet Explorer don't suck. Safari don't suck. Opera don't suck. All of them has flaws, but every single one of them are still very useful to its users, and therefore they do NOT suck. Which is my whole point.
Many mac users say PC sucks, many PC users say mac sucks.
Many iPhone users say android sucks, many android users say iPhone sucks.
Why would they be so popular if they sucked?
People are still using IE 6 which doesn't have tabs...IE 7 and 8 are terribly slow, and IE9 is only available on win vista/7 (for no reason), and they are all only on windows. Thus IE sucks. Safari sucks because of lack of cusomization of anything, slowness, and it only runs fairly well on macs afaik. Chrome is similarly lacking in customization, it tracks you, among other annoyances, but it is alright. Opera is alright as well, just not my style. But the vast majority of browsers do suck or are derivatives of the ones that don't suck. I see nothing wrong with Wizzup's statement.
^This is why I rarely open my mouth
i use rockmelt for the integrated facebook
When you say that IE sucks, you just cannot use that same word to describe any other browser. (Well, maybe Netscape.. :p)
Simply put: IE < *.
If only Microsoft actually followed W3 standards, all web developers wouldn't have to make two versions of their pages. Basically, as long as you keep away from IE, the rest is just personal preferences.
Do they have a native x64 install now that works with Java?
Thanks for the heads up, I'm updating now :D And they call it Sh*ternet Explorer for a reason...
firefox is definitely the safest thanks to its master password option which protects the browsers passwords saved dump. Even if you have a trojan they cant decode anything thanks to the master password.
thanks for the heads up, definitely gonna upgrade now.
