A little Jad helper

I got really frustrated when Jad owned me too many times so I decided, no more!

I made this little combination script to work with Simba and Scar. It switches the correct prayer based on Jad's attack and never misses it. The script leaves mouse and keyboard to the user, who can focus on killing the healers without needing to worry about prayers.

This script is rather funny bubble-gum fix, but it really works.

Usage

Open su_jad.simba in Simba, run it. Once the Simba script is running, disable smart (it still reads the hooks but leaves mouse input to the user).
Open su_jad.scar in Scar, run it. Make sure the SMART-window is fully visible on the screen. That's it. The script wait's until it finds Jad.

One more thing. Right after wave 62, turn off your current prayer as the script handles the rest of the prayers.

If the player is using saradomin brews along with super restore potions, there's a few helper keyboard commands to those as well. Here are the mappings:

a = Set magic prayer on/off.
s = Drink saradomin brew.
d = Set ranging prayer on/off.
w = Drink super restore potion.

Player shouldn't mind a/d buttons, since the script really works, but they are there just in case.

I haven't been able to die at Jad while using these scripts. So, go on, kill the fucking bastard!

I don't see where it actually changes the prayer?

e: your Simba version is incomplete;

I suspect there's a smart command that activates / deactivates SMART, that could be useful to you to take control over SMART to change prayer and then give control back to the user ;)

Nevertheless, the script itself is not incomplete. You were merely talking about a feature instead.

Well, I don't really see how it would work otherwise........ cus either the script would be taking care of prayers or you would be killing whatever without the script being able to switch players because SMART is disactivated.... or am I just plain wrong?

You are plain wrong. If you red my op, you would know that once the SMART-client is once enabled and then disabled, it still transfers the hooked-data. The only difference when SMART is disabled, is that you cannot use programmable mouse functions then, which is a good thing here.

If I'm not mistaken, one script is saving data to the .ini, as it gets information from the client. Whilst the SCAR one reads from it, and uses the old school method of hijacking the mouse? Sounds like a very good idea, might use this instead of paying someone.

This is an interesting script, I have to try it. Now we're one step closer to making script that just runs the entire cave for you ;)

I like the concept much. I've always wanted a helper type bot for RS. Like while your playing it auto eats for you etc. without to much interference.

He means actually completing it. I thought both of theirs just fought and ran back in for tokkul and xp, not trying to get furtherst into the cave and kill Jad.

Harry's was ages ago, so I can't really remember. You're probably right.

Okay, I've decided to definitely use this when I get home tonight, but I just have a couple of questions (not really about the script, but about Jad, and you seem to have knowledge, so...).

What is the best gear to attack him with (inventory as well)?
What do you do with those healers guys when they appear (also where I've slipped up before)?

Use Rune cross w/ broad-tipped bolts. Kharil's or diamond (e) if you want to waste cash
Inventory: take 20-24 super rests and fill up with sara brews (might take purple sweets if 1-def).
It's a bit dependent on your skills, but I'd use this for 70 range, 70 def, 52 prayer:

Verac's helm is good for the prayer bonus. Neitiznot can also do. I'm not up-to-date on the latest armour but prayer bonus are welcome.
Verac's plateskirt/other good platelegs which don't lower range are nice. Rune platelegs worst case scenario.
Shield spot: really, anything nice will do. I used a dfs once but those are expensive and unnecessary. A complete prayer book is good, or if you got some good shield which doesn't lower range too much, yes please.
Ring can be really anything, from archer's to recoil (recoil is fun as usually it'll still be intact when I leave the caves, as I won't lose too much hp).
Inventory: depending on prayer/range bonus between 20-24 super restores (4), fill the rest with saradomin brew (4).

Head: Verac's Helm/Neitiznot/Archer Helm/Anything else
Cape: Accumulator
Amulet: Amulet of Fury/Holy Symbol/Glory
Ammunition: 1K Diamond (e) Bolts/Broad/Addy
Weapon: Rune Crossbow
Body: Black D'Hide Body/Armadyl Body
Shield/Book: Any God Book/Obby Shield/Granite Shield/Spirit Shield
Legs/Bottom: Verac's Skirt/Armadyl Platelegs
Gloves: Best RFD Gloves (Barrows)/Black D'hide Vambs/Bracelet
Boots: Ranger Boots/Snakeskin Boots/Dragon Boots
Ring:Archer's Ring/Explorer Ring

I used as good range gear as possible along with guthans. When Jad appears, run the script and shoot him until he is at half life-points. Now, when the healers arrive, shoot each once, go as far from Jad as possible (remember, you don't need to see him since the script switches prayers correctly). Switch to guthans, kill the healers, switch back to ranging gear and kill Jad.

What comes to the inventory, take guthans (as I mentioned already) and few saradomin brews and rest should be super restores. Perhaps a couple of ranging potions won't hurt.

I don't understand the simba script; you write to the ini file to switch the prayer?

I made a test script that alternated between the two and it was writing to the ini file but not having any effect on in game prayers, I don't want to spend 2 hours getting to jad for the script to bork, please explain.

Edit: lol don't worry, i got it, youre using 2 scripts side by side as if they were threads

Na don't do that, I had way too many respawns and those really stress you. Just trap them behind yourself, a rock or Jad or whatever.

Oh man, people, you need to start reading original posts. The usage is there perfectly mentioned. Just take a few minutes and read how it works.

When I run su_jad.simba it writes in the debug box that Jad is dead, instead of waiting. su_jad.scar waits though, is this correct? Just a bit confused, followed instructions in the original post. Ran the simba script first, then the scar script.

On wave 47... do I need to press play on su_jad.simba when Jad is about to come out?

Edit: Got to Jad, it selected range prayer instead of magic prayer and my friend died. I probably did something wrong but I don't know what :\ If someone could make a video (or something) on the correct way to set the scripts up (I always tend to read something wrong) I would be eternally grateful.

Oops, my apologies, there was a stupid bug in su_jad.simba. It works now, so download it again. Remember, turn off prayer after wave 62.

Yea I modified the script so that i could start everything running before the final wave, rather than having to start it after jad spawns. If you want to do this just wrap the repeatuntil block inside the jad finding if function.

ILU!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL I lost my firecape soloing corp beat 3 times.. 3 firecapes I lost.. now? I HAVE MY FIRECAPE BACK!! LOL I didnt have to do shit.. I clicked nothing.. The only thing I had to click was the healers.. and run around till only one is hitting me.. then attack jad and the script did the rest!!

I started the script on wave 1.. and then what i did was I used the "d" button to prot range on the 90's then I used the a button to protect mage the whole time on the 360's... I manually drank brews and restores.. though sometimes I accidentally pressed s and w and it drank lol..

After that I got to jad.. he spawned in the worst spot of course because my account is always bad luck like that.. the script just switch automatically I tripped out cuz I wasnt sure wth happened to my mouse since i was trying to click jad lol.. And bam! healers.. killed 1 of them.. lined up 3 of them.. one was hitting me.. click jad and just went and watch tv till it said I had the cape LOL! I have 90+ prayer so yeah I did watch tv..

P.S. Killed jad with 1 brew left and 12 sup restores.. meh you can see the invent urself..

Gear: Arma top (borrowed cuz im cheap like that), black d hide legs, zammy book, neitz helm, glory, ava alerter, ring of dueling (LOL)..

his defence was 1, and i tried 5 times and died at wave 53(when the 90's can't be prayed against because of the 360's, and the 180's are hUGE fuckers and get in the way of running around...)
I got my defence up, lol, no way i'll get a firecape without the old safe spots that got removed :(

Yeah you can get it with one def.. But its hella expensive.. purple sweets is what u'd be using and Iunno if u can get excalibur enchanted at lvl 1 but if u can.. then get it! There aren't any safespots really except by italy rock to trap jad and south west corner is where u hide for the rest.. but you can run around the 360, and range the 90 that way the 180 & 90 will get trapped and wont hit u.. then kill the 360, safespot the 180..

My friend is at Jad again and it's not doing any of the prayers? I downloaded the new .simba too... no prayers on and at italy rock, run at jad and nothing happens when he casts - su_jad.scar always says "waiting for SMART client..." in debug if that's normal.

Hmm, obviously, you are doing something wrong. Make sure you run SMART client in lowest graphical mode with fixed width. Like always, when you're SMARTing...

Update your SCAR to >= 3.25 and try again. If it still doesn't work, turn on the Aero theme. Perks of SCAR...

EDIT:

Once the SCAR finds SMART window, do not move it since it needs to be in fixed point after that. Otherwise the script will click in wrong places.

Before you try again, try it with some other monster to ensure it works.

Alright, where would the 3.25 version be located? I tried google, freddy1990 and all I found was 3.22. I haven't used scar in years, so excuse my ignorance. to it
