Barrows

Ok, so i have never done Barrows before and i read that the Slayer Dart was very effective

so i got my slayer up to 55 today and am getting myself ready for my first ever barrows run, however runescape wikia said that if im using magic then wear my best magic gear, but im not sure if it is going to be enough

do you think the following equipment will be ok along with my stats?
if not what should i wear
also what stuff should i take with me

I personally prefer meleeing the brothers, Veracs is nice for meleeing, should get reqs, they are totally worth it.

If you plan to mage, best bet is to use Black Salamander since its cheaper and more effective way to mage at Barrows.

Good luck with drops.

I used slayer dart with melee gear. It is still really effective even without the mage gear. Pray on dharok, kharil and ahrim.

Use full veracs with either slayer dart or black sally. You don't need mage armour since the brothers are weak to magic. But you do need to bring a melee weapon for ahrim and karil since they're strong against magic. I suggest veracs because it has a decent prayer bonus, and near same def as torags, etc.

The first brother you should kill is dharok, always pray melee on him, then go to karil, always pray range, then ahrim, then verac, torag, guthan. At your level, your prayer will probably run out at karil or during ahrim, don't bother potting and bringing it back up since ahrim doesn't hit very high anyways, and verac hits through prayer regardless. Torag's hits are very inaccurate, and guthan doesn't hit that much either.

But for armour, I suggest tank gear.

This is what I use, 138 cb/maxed main. In my inventory I have rapier, d defender, fury, claws.

what staff is that?

Chaotic staff, costs 2m for 10 hours and costs 200k dg tokens to buy one

Sell your d plate and buy full veracs. If you have a holy/unholy book, use that instead.

honestly, its the easiest minigame ever, its so overrated with how hard it is! I used to do runs on my one defence pure using mele. Theyre only level 130 and youve got prayers, food and pots

They're level 148 now, I think, but they're still easy.

On my main I go until I run out of p pots. ...My inv is full of p pots.

Lol I don't know... I haven't done barrows since 2008... What are the kids using these days?

Oh yea! This bings back memories when I tricked a kid to go barrows with full rune without using any prayers. Dharok hit a 60 on him and he died! Hahahahaha. Good times. :)

:S Make sure to have quick prayer set! I personally used mage robes for coffins then d plate/skirt in the tunnels + verac.

Yeah there's only two people I dislike in the tunnels; Dharok and Karil. They both require Prayer.

i must say im rather unimpressed by barrows

they are easier than i expected, and i have only got a few runes and about 2k out of it

EDIT: aha! finally got something, i got Dhorak's axe. I also timed it and i finished it in 11 mins, so including the time it takes to get everything setup again i would say about 15 mins per round

EDIT: this time i dont it in just under 10 mins, not bad considering how long other people have said it takes

polypore staff is better.
If you have gano, you wont need prayer for any of them apart from veracs (he combos me through 85 def) and karil.

I didn't add the runes, but staff of light can also caste slayer dart (which is what I use).
You can also switch Staff of light for regular slayer staff and dds (kill one of karail/ahrim first , fight the other brothers and then go back to the one you didn't kill so you can use full specs on them).


It last me like 3 trips ( I use the bank near by and I also have 65 + agility so i can recharge pray at natural altar).

how many p pot do you use per load/trip?
I average 1-2 Does per 2 Brother and 2 Does for DH, I just tank if my pray points are low ( apart from guthan and dh which I try to pray all the time), in the end, I use about 1.5 to 2 p pot and 3-5 swordies (for 15-20 kc) per load/trip.

jagex has given me bad drops 30 times in a row :/ i dont recommend doing barrows :S
