MonkeyKnifeFighterthiever [200-250k XP/h]

Have been running it on my account with 85 thieving. Jail escape seems flawless, just annoying when you get caught behind the gorilla is all. (nothing can be done about that naturally).

The only issue I've noticed with mine is that if my punch fails, the bot will still attempt to pick pocket the monkey 2x, sometimes causing it to get caught multiple times thus increasing the chance of gong to jail. I am currently learning SIMBA as I go while writing my own script with one of my best friends so I don't know all that much, but possibly there's a function to detect whether the monkey is knocked out or not? (I only know a bit of C++, C#, and java so I don't know if this will affect the script's speed/usability.

Just a thought. Otherwise great script and very impressive if its your first one.

The only way I can detect if a monkey was knocked successfully is by looking at the chat and find the message that I knocked him out. Now the problem is that when the script finds out it was successful, the monkey is about to wake up. I have no other choice to knock, and pickpocket twice hoping for the best.
I do a stun check before each pickpocket attempt so usualy it will do this: Punch, start pickpocketing, we are stunned so the first pickpocket doesn't register, and then the script realise we are stunned and do not attempt to pickpocket a second time.

When you are stunned and attempt to pickpocket a monkey, it does not increase the chance of going to jail. To increase that you need to fail to pickpocket it (like pickpocketing it while it isn't stunned) or fail to punch it.

And this is the first script I started to work on, but I paused the development to rush a mahogany table maker for BXP weekend to get 99 construction. So technicaly it's my second script.

Ah yeah thats what I figured with the whole setup, only so much you can do when they do wake up that quickly. Oh well not a big deal, still runs flawlessly otherwise. Thanks for a great script.

Just an idea it tends to run out of food for me so why not make it unnote food at the general store?

Maybe in a member version, this is after all in the public section.

Meanwhile a regen bracelet and manualy summoning a bunyip would greatly help.

I know the script is enough to get me through. The only thing that could stand in my way is the fact that I'm a somewhat newcomer.

There's probably something that can be done about it, but it is relatively more difficult to implement and I wonder if it will be stable.

Yeah it was my first idea, but then I realised that they teleport around you. Not only is this easier to implement but it also reduce the risk of false positive and getting stuck in case the script messes up. Especialy at lower thieving level, sometime picklocking the door takes a while, and the monkey could get in the way by then.

I'm wondering if it's possible with SPS detection of the gorilla NPC MM dot. A similar concept has been done as a proof of concept in Summer Garden, but to me it's just too much work and I would rather fail it than do it.

I've seen something about 3d detection. Basicaly it looks at the minimap, then look at your camera anlge, and make an array that represent grid on your screen. It then figure out in what grid that yellow/red dot should be using some kind of mathematic equation.

I think the title was "Rat killer- a making of" or something like that. Could work, maybe, I didn't try it but it look complicated for so little advantage. I'd rather keep the escape simple stupid and reliable.

Firstly, amazing script - thank you so much and also for making it public - much appreciated. Just a quick question - I'm low level thieving (83). I was getting battered until I actually read your instructions re the safe spot. But still going through an inventory of lobsters every half hour or so. Bunyip helped slightly. But when I watched it, it was dropping 3 or 4 lobs and also eating 3 or 4 even with full health? I commented these rules out and now using next to no lobs. I'm assuming this is to clear inventory space, but at my level I need the lobs more. Does this seem right?

bbassett, my m8 got 83-89 in a day or so.

just be patient at these lvls.

First of all im going to say THANK YOU , i know i have been bugging a few people for this script but non had the time nor the quest completed , i am very much thankfull to you , I am going to test this script in a few minutes will post a review about it in an hour or so :)

Edit- so ran the script for about 30minutes and its done with like 25 lobsters lol , then again its not the scripts fault (though it did dropa few , which i dont mind) ..moving on.. looks fine so far i think i read you saying that you may make it automaticaly trap the monkey for you ? that would be amazing! .. overall script looks nice cleanly coded in my view (then again i dont script i just read em :D) .. another thing erm to all that are using this script might a personal suggestion help you or not.. but if i may say using a ring of life is needed for all scripts involving loss of HP and a Regen bracelet could be good to?

In other new's any one hear that crazy theory that someone said you can actually get 99 theving in 48hours legit! .. and thats 1-99 i belive..
Here's my test im going to run this script all day to day as of 6:45am 24/03/12.. i will post at this time tomorrow hopeing that i may have or am very close to 99 theving at the moment i am 72 i belive..

Not in a hurry at all - was wondering if at 90+ it doesn't use lobs, so it drops/eats them - until then, commenting those 2 rules is working perfectly - and 83-89 in a day - not on my work laptop it won't! but more than happy i'm not having to do this by hand - thank god for scripts and scripters :-)

It drops lobster when your inventory is full, because when you have no space, you don't recieve any XP for pickpocketing (It says you don't have enough space to do that)

Big man 1, the random is detected by SRL, not me. I took a look at the code and SRL detect the freaky forester by looking at the number of dot on the minimap.

There is alot of stuff on ape atoll so it's a false positive. I can't really do anything I'm not SRL dev.

This is a great script. Definitely the fastest thieving xp on this site.

I'm level 90 thief and was getting 130k-136k per hour for 3 hours. I only got taken to jail once, but it solved it flawlessly.

The one thing that would greatly increase the speed is if it consistently pickpocketed twice per knock out. For me, it was doing both once and twice per knock out.

If you are getting only 130k xp while the monkey is safespoted, you might be lagging, try to increase the number of fps you get and it might help achieve 190k+

Yeah, my computer is fast, but RS is always laggy for me.

Regardless, I am more than happy with even 130k per hour ;)

Hi yes i know its not your script , i just thought youd like to know about it thats all :) , by the way i was wondering if i could change the
DTM for lobster to monkfish or have you allready tested this and the lobster turned out to be more effeicent?

You could ADD a monkfish dtm, not change.

If you change the lobster dtm, the lobster you pickpocket will fill up your inventory and destroy your xp rate.

I named the eating function EatSomething, just add another condition in there to eat the monkfish sometime.

Script works very well.

Only thing I've noticed is the SERVER constant that is defined never seems to be used so I wrote the worldinfo field to my character struct instead.

I've been experiencing the problem where the script will punch one monkey and then pickpocket another. It is doing this quite frequently for me. The answer you gave to someone else is that it can't see the monkey it punched. This is not always the case. It does it while I've got a monkey safespotted. It will punch the monkey that's in the safespot and in clear view then pickpocket one that is far away.

This makes using the safespot practically nonviable for me.and is greatly reducing xp per hour.

This is the only real problem that I see with the script. It is flawless otherwise.

Do no Evil is a freaking long quest lol. Trying to complete it so I can give feedback :P

Wow. It's finally here :). As soon as you announced this script I started working on Do No Evil, I finally got it done today and am using this wonderful script. I've decided on going for 99 thieving for a long time now and I went from 71-91 via pp and got so bored I decided to just wait for this...

It's running great so far, i'm averaging 180k with 91 thieving. I haven't been jailed once :)!

Just thought of another suggestion, how about support for the food store? For low lvs or when you simply run out of food, you can buy choc bars at the food shop on Ape Atoll

Acccording to SRL stats, this script has been used for a total of 304 hours in the since the realease, 2 days and a half ago. Wasn't expecting this to be so popular.

And about all those suggestion, I don't want to add all those things to the script. When I was (very) new here, all I did was download script, use them. Then I sometime found that those script could use improvment so I modified the script to my liking.
You guys should do that too. I think it's one of the best way to learn scripting.

It is popular because it is well written and well designed. I have been running it frequently in between fishing as well. Good job.

I was getting nowhere near the XP expected, but more than happy with 100k + - but even at level 90+ I was going through an inventory of food every hour and a half. Switched my PC from wireless to cable, instantly 180k+ xp, been 2 hours and used no extra food yet. My wireless was excellent but the slight lag made a huge difference.
