How many bots can you run? Processor Discussion

I wanted to compare the efficiency of some different processors. How many Simba bots can you run, including s.m.a.r.t and using an efficient script while actually botting and not in the lobby/login.

So far

Phenom II x6 1090T (6-8)
FX-8120 (8-11)
FX-8150 (8-12)
i7 890 2.8Ghz (6-9)
i5 2500k (7-11)
i7 2600k (8-12)
3930K (14-20)
3770k (11-14)

These numbers represent personal tests with my own processors and information I've gathered from around the forums and peoples averages.


I'd really like to know how the 3930K performs and more precise information regarding the FX series.

What about overclocking with Simba? I've been told contradictory statements implying that overclocking is pointless since Simba is already making use of the full core, or something along those lines?

Wow! You sure have a lot of CPU's.

Overclocking sure helps, else a crappy processor would just perform as good as a good one. If it used 100% of the CPU it would show in the task manager.
I got an i7 2600k overclocked to 4.4 Ghz but I never tried to run more than 1 simba.

How can I get past the multi login protection beside loging 2 account at the same time really quickly?

Don't bypass it. Just log onto different worlds on each account.

My tests:
Phenom x6 Extreme Edition: 5-6
Bulldozer: Barely 8 - waste of money do not get.
i72006k:10-15
i73930k: 20

Right now im logged with 5 account on my i7 2600k o/c to 4.4 ghz and my CPU is only used 40-45%

In reply to your PM that you sent me about my 3930k: I can run about 25 Simba & SMARTs/Runescapes and still have room to do whatever I want without any lag at all. Other than that, I've never tried to exceed 25. Note that my CPU usage doesn't max out at that point at all and barely tops 55% usage.

No doubt that I could reach 15 bot on my O/C 2600k if I lower the fps slider down.

I think I'll try this tomorow.

You should not need to run more then one simba at a time. What has happened to bot armys and multiplayer script support?

Lol most of the people who flocked here are interested in running as many bots as possible to get as much money as they can to sell for irl money or to just be rich as hell in a short period of time. These people also ruin the game.

25 Runescapes yes, but running 25 scripts? Because once you run a script the memory intake doubles if not triples.

I cant run more than one without a super lag Running on a phenom quadcore

Problem is that scriptwriters these days load their scripts with a lot of paint, very little wait time between different script tasks, and the fact that SMART is not efficient in managing memory.

wow never heard of such cpu's like "i73930k" i must be really outdated :s does it belong to I7? or how does it work?

im running 10 and im at 30% cpu usage atm

I only have a Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 900 @ 2.20GHz 2.19GHz with 2.00 RAM. My laptop lags with one client open. I definitely need an upgrade.

I agree on them ruining the game. I remember back when almost every script was multiplayer and almost every person here had a bot army. Also there was hardly ever any spam. It is sad to see what has happened to the SRL community as it development has boomed.

personally i dont goldfarm
i just bot/script combat for pking accounts(trying to figure out narcles so i dont affect legiters)
and i do skills which don't affect legiters like fletching and crafting and the skills for certain quests (i enjoy quests) lol

It depends on how SMART is feeling for me haha

That's what I was wondering, I've seen a few people reply who have 3930K saying around 20, then a few people claiming 25. I was wondering why the bulldozer fx-8120/50 series acts so poorly, can it not achieve 10 at least?

I only run one bot on my i7 2760QM with 8gb of RAM. I have no use for any more... Can still play Skyrim, listen to music on Youtube/WMP and bot now. Quite the upgrade from my 2.1ghz Celeron I had! :P

It's crazy how you guys are running 5+ at a time. And 10? Good lord.

I have a main, pure, and a skiller, and I have trouble keeping up with just these 3. Rarely ever have more than 2 running at a time.

So no one knows how the 8120 and 8150 works with simba? I'm trying to decide whether I should go with it, 8150, or a i5 2550K it's a bit cheaper and can still get a $50-70 mobo that's decent. Just for bots how would they compete, I know the 2550K would probably be much better for gaming.

It seems like you could get 2 8120 or 2550k setups for the price of one 3930K.

my laptops really bad it can only run 2 bots but my pc can run up 12 bots (custom made)

That's epic! 25 instances of simba! mat most I would never need more than two

I have a few 1055T's clocked up to about 3.5GHz, they hit around 8-10 instances running, depending on the script IIRC

my personal battlestation is clocked up to 4GHz, pretty sure it does a little over 10 instances running. Keep in mind both of these have 16GB of RAM..

definently looking at buying the 3930K, the numbers on here seem phenomenal. Or at least the ivy bridge refresh to the 2500K.

Ram really isn't the deciding factor for this, you'd be fine with 20 names on 8gb. You'll bottleneck on CPU usage in most cases first.

yea I can run 25 too (3930k) liquid cooled.. not overclocked as much as I could, it sits at like 40C under full load so I can go much higher


at 25, jagex doesn't allow anymore rs's to load

watching the memory usage it looks that way, but remember if you hit near your ram cap then your system is starting to use virtual mem which will eat your processor even more, so having at least a gig more than you use is important (for what we're doing.. at least)

I can run 5 without problems on a phenom 955 II x4 black edition

Having more than 1-2GB of RAM on a Windows 7 machine helps tons.

if you're going 2550k the only difference is being able to get higher clocks due to its IGPU being disabled, thus much less heat..

in that case you'd want a graphics card too (obviously you do anyways since you're running a game)

How much are you overclocking?

for this sort of task, the intel cpu's are going to beat the AMD ones since FX was a sad flop (which I am sorry to hear, I was excited) but intel wins price and performance.

I have a phenawm x6 1100T and I run 4 at about 55% usage, so I would say 6 of them at around 80, which would be the max I could run.

7 tops, if I don't want to run anything else.

I need me one of them i7's that run 20+ >_<

I would back-up the claim of 6 or so on the 1090T I have one myself. Though what I hear in regards to the 3930K would interest me, pick up a few of these and it could turn out cheaper than a VPS for a farmer. Long-term of course.

Worst laptop ever for gaming.. It can only run 2 simbas without lag using 90-100% CPU.
If i run 3 simbas at once it fucks up.. lags bad one or 2 log out from loss of connection or something, i've even had the laptop crash on the first time i tried to use 3 at once.
I don't recommend getting that. :)

But on the otherhand if anyone knows how i can get the CPU usage down it'd be great to know.

I have the i5 2500k... I can run 5 easily with room left for anything i want. Also, default is 3.30GHz for the i5 2500k.... I am under-clocked (college class project, don't ask). Under-clocked at 2.5GHz. and 8 GB of ram, 64-bit win7
