jagex say,
We’re also changing the way that combat levels are calculated. We are scrapping the current 138 max design and replacing it with a calculation that’s far simpler to understand:
X + Defence level +2 = your Combat level.
(X = your highest stat level from Magic, Ranged, Attack or Strength).
This makes the new max combat level 200!

idk, they said they wanted defense to have more of an effect, so i guess this is a way to represent that in the cb lvl. i really dont like the new 30 lvl rule though. no more armored zombies :/.
Well, a reset would let them add more content. I think that's the driving factor, that and Jagex might have wow envy. The possiblity of 90+ equipment is nice. Also, armored zombies might be lvl 180 for all we know.Quote:

It's 10% of the XP if the skill you are training is 30 levels above the combat level of the monster you fight, actually. If you are training multiple skills(ie defensive stance) then XP is calculates separately for each.Quote:

My second main is level 134 right now, and my main is level 101. Only trained summoning on my main to get it over 100 combat.

Estimates are late august from the official site. The beta is supposed to go for about 1.5 months. I hope they iron out something reasonable... O and by NPC levels I mean what levels do the NPC's have.Quote:

According to Jagex those other 99s are irrelevant. I mean seriously... who uses prayer and summoning (not to mention the skills that don't contribute towards their combat level!)... pssh! It makes perfect sense... :spot:Quote:

lol i can see it now. a ranged tank (99 range + 99 def) being lvl 200. wants to train magic (why not, ur already max cb lvl), and has to train on monsters lvl 170+ using wind strike XD. talk about slow leveling.

I dont see the point that someone that has 99 ranged and 99 def has the same combat as someone with all cb lvls at 99. It's really sad, jagex said that cb level after the cb update will show the real power of every player. I think it won't, just another fail update.
so dont bother training prayer at the moment???
What this just doesnt make sense...
