do you start off with a level 3 or can you customize levels?
You start off at level 3. Everything is quite litterly EXACTLY how it is in 2006. The XP rates are the same as normal runescape. There is still a tut island, quests, randoms, ect.
I don't know if i'd want to grind and make a new acc from scratch, probably not then because i don't like training.
Well think about it like this. You wouldn't have to get any high stats for a long time. Most people would be 60 atk and a little above 60 str for a long time. Plus, all of the gp in the game has to enter in from drops, alching, and stores.
that is pretty interesting, everyone will be equal-ish for a while. Maybe i will try it

My cousin told me about it and I'm already registered. I'm about to donate so I can play it, also to help press the bugs out because I'm not doing a single thing this summer besides sleep and Xbox.
I don't even mind starting from scratch, as long as I'm away from the game that "was perfectly fine before it fucked itself (and is still a WIP)" then I'm glad.
I also miss the old days, alot.
Falador/Varrock/Seers world 1/2 trading and asking for a PC in banks, to name a couple.
We could also bot the game, but that would mean going back to an early revision of SRL, which I don't think the SRL SVN existed at the time of 2006. That or creating your own includes.
we've been discussing around, and it would be sad to see a script section for rs2006 and i personally think we should just keep the scripts to ourselves.
I'll probably end up botting on it... Just for combat levels etc so I can have some fun PKing. I already know how I'll work with UpText.
It'd take a while though...and at any given time 2006scape can just shut down.
if it were to get shut down they will release the source for everyone.
Also it would be a dick move on jagex to just shutdown rs2006, without shutting down others like runerewind, and soul split.
Definitely interested, the RuneScape of 2006 was so much more fun than the game of today!
I might try with unsigned mode or virtual machine if they make it free.

I've made an account, I think the exp rates should be atleast 2x as fast as normal rs though.
but its classic experience:) and i was super pro 2x, but now i think about it. 1x ain't bad.
Anybody know the possibility of a chicken bot being made? Getting the feathers and bones would be great combat and prayer xp along with money.
Fuck yes. Finally. I've always dreamed about a private server that was the exact same as runescape except pre-hd update. I'm definitely making bots for this.
I'd actually love it if this became more popular than rs lol.

I joined here in 06. So all the scripts I have still from when I joined would all work I assume. That makes me smile a bit

Nobody should make an include for 2006Scape... that's just ruining the spirit. Same goes for releasing public 2006Scape scripts... It would be best if scripts were created and used only by an individual for personal use. The whole point of 2006Scape is nostalgia.
