Jmod says there is no actual "nuke"

I didn't believe it at first, but there's no actual nuke. a JMOD states it's an on-going battle and optimus was implemented in may to improve performance and help them in the battle against bots.

Hey guys,

We completely understand the negative impact on the game bots are having for us all, and I assure you we are working on removing them from our game. However this is a lengthy war between both bot developers and ourselves and takes a considerable amount of development time to change our engine and implement measures to prevent botting.

We could tackle this on a day to day basis, but this would essentially have no real impact on the bots in game, and although it may not seem as though we are doing anything we are working away in the background to implement measures which don't just ban or stop players who are botting, but instead preventing bots from being able to run in the game, period.

As a last note, the Technical Help forums is not a place to rant about bots in game. We all know they exist and posting your opinions on what you think Jagex is or isn't doing about them will not help the process any further. If you have any technical issues or cannot get into the game then please don't hesitate to ask as we will help you as much as we can, however when it comes to bots it all turns into a big rant thread, when there are forums specifically allocated for this.

well, i guess you bought them cheapish, you may aswell just use them (if you don't already have 99 prayer)

This makes sense. By putting in updates easier using the OPtius platform, bots will need to constantly update thereby meaning there is a constant cat and mouse thing going on.

Hmm I obviously know that ever since Jacmob said back in May "Optimus is not a change to the game engine itself, but a library that allows us to develop fixes to these sorts of issues very quickly"

Learn to read there will be a botnuke.. the mods simply cannot give you an ETA - so stop think that it is not coming.

Optimus is their newest software, it's not the name of a nuke. It'll now be easier for them to install anti-bot features, from what I've heard, on the fly. That doesn't mean they won't be using Optimus to launch something big soon and resulting in a mass ban.

secondly, it's not just me who says there's not nuke, from looking at the text, many people believe there's no nuke.

thirdly, there's no nuke "eta" so even if there is one, it's not any time soon so we don't need to worry..

It is coming so stop being ignorant.. clearly an ETA = it will come, just no exact date is given. Unless you do a "jacmob" like he did after cluster futter make a fake counter just to make them believe a fixed client was being released :P

Also they not mentioning an ETA could also be for the Bot Developers not to know when its coming and hit us blind. Anyways we still have no idea how we(color) will be affected besides the recent nav bar change that did affect us a bit which is fixable... but it is 100% injection bots will go down for a while

This would suggest to me that they will be implementing lots of regular changes/updates to make botting harder with the use of the optimus system. This doesn't necessarily rule out that one of them will be a big one or 'bot-nuke' so to speak.

Realistically jagex are giving away as little information as possible to keep their paying customers happy (or not, as it so happens). So all posts/threads about this are just speculation and seriously not worth having a flame war over.

nah, i discovered SRL before powerbot. also, "nexpb" is from powerbot, he's created some pretty cool scripts on SRL and Powerbot, just thought i'd let you know..

Simply because you discovered SRL first does not make you primarily part of the SRL community. I will not generalise ALL PB community members but many that I have seen have similar attitudes to yours, that is a fairly aggressive one with the notion that you seem to right 99.95% of the time. This is simply what I have seen from this thread and I hope that you and the rest of the pb community can prove me wrong.

seems fair, personally i don't care what you think of me or powerbot, it's your opinion. i've been at powerbot now for a week or so, people seem quite friendly, they know how to have a laugh and admins are quite laid back, they allow you to say what you wish. i guess that could be seen as a bad thing but personally, that's what i prefer. i don't come to these forums because i have too, i come because i find it fun and entertaining, but anything you do you get flamed for, i argue back, get given infraction points by "flight". still not sure why...

anyways, my main point is, i guess people in this forum are a bit more serious, they take everything like it's there jobs, mods such as "zyt3x" don't know how to have a laugh, all he does is ban people and close threads. whereas powerbot is alot more entertaining, more interesting threads, not just about botting. and you don't get called a "noob" all the time just because you have a low post count, or you simply don't want to create a script.

i'm not sure where it has come from that powerbot is so bad, i find people more aggressive on this forum (although i may have come across has aggressive in this thread, it's due to the fact: somebody called me, i called them back, i got infraction points, they didn't) i don't flame, if people don't flame me, simple as really. as already stated, people aren't aggressive on powerbot they are just more laid back..

It's not a matter of taking a joke, it's how you're applying it. Maybe you've seen some of my posts in random places of me talking really bad about maybe Daniel, or Grats, or YoHoJo. These are all really good friends of mine, they know whatever insults I throw their way it's for laughs, and chances are they retaliate. :p

That's a difference between you and the rest of us. Our jokes aren't intended to hurt, but everything I've seen you type is an attack towards someone. I don't know how things are there at Powerbot, but from every community I've been a part of people like that are really looked down upon, and in most cases pay the price for it. Even Sythe, while being a nesting ground for scamming and such, has strict rules against flaming, and they won't think twice about banning anyone for the slightest hint of it. You can bet that.

No body is forcing you to be here, if you feel like you fit in better at PB then obviously the choice is yours, and no hard feelings. But if you're gonna hang around here you need to understand that flaming other people isn't proving anything. You'll find most of us are super easy to get along with, and I'm personally hoping you'll be the same way. I'd much rather see you stick around and lighten up than simply give up and go back to PB...
