Chaotic Choice

Hey guys,

So thanks for a mixture of ProDung and Idung i have finally got myself enough tokens for a chaotic weapon.

I'm torn between what to get so any advice on what to get is kind (i'm maxed melee but not maxed sum or range).

If u dont plan to slay/train melee then chaotic maul would be good for waterfiends (for charms), though a goliath glove is better. Chaotic crossbow is mainly for bossing and there are close substitutes like royal xbow. Either cannon or do chin to train ranged.

EOC may change quite a lot of things so if u are not in urgent need of them i suggest to wait until EOC comes to live to decide on which will be the best weapon.

I was thinking a rapier would be useful for slayer but I was torn, i mean I'm probably going to continue botting dung for a bit so maybe get 2 chaotics :S

I'm in the same predicament as you. I still need charms for 96 summoning yet I need a rapier for FD's and slayer..

I'm probably going to just save 400k tokens and buy them at the same time :P

Get Rapier... Just buy a C Maul and CLS from the Solomons General Store

i am in the same boat, i want to train slayer so i am most likely going to buy a rapier, but i am happy at the moment the pace of my slaying, i am not really in any rush. i also want charms for summoning, but i suppose they will come with slayer so i am not too worried, also i don't know whether it is better to repair the rapier or to buy a new one if i have the tokens?

Rapier= for fighting low level things
Cls= for high level things
Maul= if you want good/best crush weapon, good for waterfiends and bosses
Crossbow= if you are/want to be a pro ranger
Staff= if you are a pro mager and want the best damage dealing staff

I'm not p2p, but in the dungeons I had a frac rapier bound and then I found a longsword. The stat change is significant and I don't know why you would get a rapier over a longsword. I know there is a gravite longsword and rapier in the store so I'm guessing its the same for chaotics.

Rapier attacks every 4 ticks (2.4sec) whereas long sword attacks every 5 ticks (3sec) which makes rapier higher dps than long sword if the monster's defence is low (eg. most slayer monsters). Rapier also has stab as its primary attack style and most slayer monsters (dragons, hellhounds etc) are weak to stab.

Things are very different in dungeoneering since most of the monsters have crazy defense so a rapier will make u miss really often, so u should always bind the highest tier 2h/prim baxe in dg (they give decent attack bonus, and most dg monsters are either weak to crush/slash).

If you do slayer a lot I wold recommend the rapier.
If you do boss killing/high level pve I would recommend the long sword.
If you pk a lot then I would recommend the maul for the awesome combo.
If you are a ranged pure obviously go with the cbow.

go with the maul. camp out WF for maxed summon. get the coral bow or whatever its called and then do range. or save the tokens max your dung and get em all

i was like u a while back and i ended up just getting the rapier, im still happy with my desicion if that is any consulation

I've generally just understood that a rapier is decent all around, but excels at slayer and such. Longsword is slower but more accurate than rapier and is alright with bossing. Maul is good for pking or any specific monster that is weak to crush.

Although maybe some of those opinions have changed. This was from a year ago when I was deciding what to get (I went with rapier).

Get the popular Chaotic Rapier..

lol? c maul and cls aren't sold in Solomon's General Store...

Get the rapier first and do slayer, that will get you charms in the meantime then work your way towards getting the maul

I bought maul only because I needed it for ggzz's Waterfirends <3

well I still need to get charms for 99 sum so what do you think?

And I tend to do slayer

As it is right now (before EOC) Rapier -> Maul -> Staff/Bow -> Farseer/Eagle Eye -> CLS
