It seems like most people don't understand what pedophilia is. Most pedophiles aren't child molesters. Most pedophiles are harmless. But let someone know you're a pedophile and the word gets out? I don't know. But they can get help for that if they ever need to, because they will have a lot of support from family, friends, psychologists, etc... That isn't too much of a problem.
