Sounds like you are talking about the onion network. Onion network ≠ Deep Web.

guys guys chill!!! I won't go as far as to say that deepweb is no different from clearweb, but basically a huge part of the deepweb is by nature inaccessible to cacheing/google/whatever else. Its just like clearweb with CP drugs. And kinda hard to navigate. so chill :P
Sorry about the partial grave-dig. I just read this article and deemed it quite relevant to this topic and thought that some of you might be interested in a read :)

Silk road is one of the more innocent part. Why not hire a hitman? :)
What have you guys got against humanity? I just want acid delivered to my letterbox :P
There's a lot of interesting stuff out there in .onionland, but unfortunately, there's also a lot of stuff you probably don't want anything to do with.
TorDir is a decent starting point for those looking to check it out.
If there anything actually good on this? The only things I can think this is used for is child porn and other general crime related topics. >.<
you know your in the deep web when someone getting there skull crushed
No.. the reason they don't show up is TOR uses its own DNS.. the intranet for tor just doesn't allow google to go snooping around there because google doesn't care enough to add some of its bots to tor.
TOR is extremely boring (what you call the deep web) and there's almost nothing interesting down there except the tor library and that phpbb hacking site
that being said, there are plenty of search engines on tor, that use spiders to go around on pages etc
uhh no? you can cache any page that you can see... there's no magical fairy that blocks you from grabbing source code.
for example when connected to my DNS:
greg.grats = greggrats.com
jewels.james = jbruckner.com/jewel-warrior
and we ain't cool enough to have anymore
tor project uses firefox alpha (aurora) to connect, I wouldn't really trust anything else.. you're more likely to get a virus installing tor software than browsing tor.
Just to clarify, you're 100 times more likely to get a virus on the clearweb.. especially since 99% of tor sites don't even run basic scripts let alone complex.
This.. the idea of tor is cool, the crap it's infested with makes it as fun as browsing the internet in a dumpster.
but again, just to say it again, the only thing on tor that is more interesting than watching grass grow is the tor library.
There is alot of great stuff on the deep web. Your all looking at Hidden wiki, right ? Well think about it, that site was made for hidden(bad thing) not the good stuff thats out there. There are many search engines for science on the deep web and a lot of other factual stuff thats good to know. Look for the good stuff and you shall find :p
