A new random event, maybe introduced by the Mysterious Old Man, should come into existence. When the Mysterious Old Man appears in front of you, he requests you type in the letter/number code in the screen above. The letters WILL NOT be case sensitive. Once you click "Continue", a new little chat box similar to a Private Message box will appear, and you type the code in the box. It will NOT be typed and then a message in Public Chat. And I want to make it absolutely clear that I mean a PICTURE of letters, not text. As several have mentioned, macroers can already decipher regular RS text.
If macroers were faced with this problem, it would stop them completely, as other websites have done this. Aditionally the picture should rotate and switch every few seconds to prevent screenshot answers. And Jagex would change the pics every once in a while also.
Obviously, if you get it right, you get the usual reward of a gem or a few coins.
If you do get it wrong, I suggest that you either get teleported elsewhere or you get automatically logged out, which was suggested in other forums in different ways.
Or, it should note everything equipped and in your inventory, therefore it makes an Axe/Lobster Pot/Pickaxe useless until unnoted.
Suggestion from Dagriton: If you get the question wrong, your account is automatically scanned for macroing.
Or be teleported to Moderator Stadium, and if you are deemed macro then your account is locked. Deemed a player, you are sent back to where you were.
A constructive suggestion from The Arche777 states that there should be THREE trials of this read-and-retype code just in case there's bad typers. If you get all three right, you get a better reward than just one. And this would still have the same effect in the case of macroers.</quote>
why or why not do you think they will do this?
