    Default Java books

So soon I will be finishing my second year of university, this means I will have 4 months free before I start a 12 month internship I have arranged.

I think I'm going to spend this time learning Java, I already know some basics however I think I will benefit more from starting right from the beginning and learning with a more traditional approach instead of random internet tutorials.

I'm hoping someone on here as done the same thing and I need some recommendations for books I should buy, I'm looking for something that will take me right from beginnings through to an intermediate-advanced level preferably with set tasks throughout the process which I can try and then compare to the examples that are given.

got a link to that library? I hate finding things on the TOR network takes so long!

Also recommend any particular books? I will probably end up buying printed copies as I find it much easier to learn from

A used copy of a walter savitch book is a good intro.
There's also a java zip pdf from their site that has tutorials (~100mb folder)

Objects first with Java a practical introduction using Blue J

It makes stuff so easy! Using a drag and drop gui to learn before going into code.

    BlueJ is free btw

it's a very public tor site, you should be able to google it and see its url (that's what I did.. that url is .onion ofc)

you'll literally find 100+ books on every language in existence, there.. they got serious loads and loads of computer books about everything you can imagine, in pdf form usually

I read through random books all the time there

Thanks to everyone for all the help, obviously I haven't read through any of them yet but all suggestions look promising.
