    Default RS3 Beta Access

    http://services.runescape.com/m=foru...4783088,goto,1
Registration for the RuneScape 3 Beta Programme kicks off on 3rd April 2013!

RuneScape 3 was announced by Mod Mark and Mod Pips in last week's Behind the Scenes Bonus Edition. Coming this summer, it'll revolutionise the way you play, with upgraded graphics and audio, a customisable interface, and player-driven gameplay on an epic scale. We want you to be involved from the start, so we're launching a beta programme to give you a preview of two of its main components and gather your feedback before the main release.

First up, we'll be running a beta of the new HTML5 client. The beta client will access the live servers, so you can bask in its full glory while still earning XP and making progress in the main game!

A week after that, we'll also release the alpha version of the all-new, customisable interface system. This'll be on dedicated alpha servers only, but you'll definitely want to log in and take a look. More details on this to come soon!

Gold and Silver Premier Club members will automatically get access to all parts of the programme, and all other RuneScape members can register their interest from next Wednesday. We intend to take a wide range in both player level and PC specifications and those chosen will be notified prior to the opening of the programme, and we’ll add more players as it progresses. If you don't get in right away, don't worry - all members will have a chance to try out the content and offer feedback before release.

Check out our Beta Programme FAQ if you’d like to find out more.

To summarise the key dates you need to be aware of are:

3rd April: Registration for the RuneScape 3 Beta Programme is opened to members.

    10th April: Registration closes.

    17th April: HTML5 beta begins.

24th April: New interface alpha begins.

Having access to these groundbreaking new features from as early as alpha stage is a golden opportunity for you to give us your feedback. Be sure to register your interest next week, and help shape RuneScape 3 into the game that you want to see!

I would be careful if you intend on signing up to this and then botting during the beta period. The guy in the BTS video stated they will be monitoring beta accounts carefully so they can see how the new engine runs on various programs. It may become obvious to them that you are botting if you regularly switch back to the old client to do monotonous tasks for hours at end without talking then use the new client in a completely different way.

Because there have been people spamming on RuneScape and on forums about fake RuneScape 3 sites for years, but now it's actually going to happen.

Your speculations are absolutely correct. Really, wouldn't you suspect someone, who switches to old client to grind some skill for ridiculous amounts of time, and then come back to new client and do completely random stuff? Especially when they will be monitoring the accounts, I bet that this monitoring will be at least few times more serious than current Bot-Watch (it picks up powerbotters on lrc kinda often). I don't want to lose a 2.1k total account .

Rincewind, so it would seem. A new HTML5 client, with the java client as an option if you like. But should make playing the game more interesting for sure!

Finally rs should be playable on mobile devices. Hopefully this will make rs more popular

highly doubt it, people will flock to it at first then realize it's just better graphics so if they already don't like it they won't be coming back

There's going to be more than just better graphics..

    There will be:

    Better performance
    Better graphics
Fully orchestrated music (not sure if they meant redos of all unorchestrated music atm or just from now on) (really looking forward to this)
New storylines / the sixth age (will allow them to have a lot of options for new quests/bosses/lore/minigames/etc.
    A new customizable interface
We'll still be able to bot the same as pre-rs3
+other stuff I might've missed or they didn't tell us yet.

But seriously, it's not being called RS3 because it's just getting better graphics.. it's an upgrade to the entire game. How would that not attract players again? I certainly dont see rs being worse after it goes to rs3 than it is now.

I think it's a move in the right direction. I also loved the bit at the premier members getting instant access a subtle way of encouraging people to buy this package.
