What error do you get when you try to install wine?

There are two ways for you install wine. Here is the easier way:

Option 1 - From Official Ubuntu Repository
    1. Open up Terminal
    2. Type the following command and press enter.
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install wine
    3. Type password and wait for it to finish. Wine should not be installed.

Option 2 - Latest verion of Wine from WINE PPA
    1. Open up Terminal
    2. Type the following command and press enter.
    Code:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
    3. Type password and wait for it to finish. This adds official wine ppa.
    4. Type the following code to update/refresh your repository.
    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
    5. Type the following:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install wine1.5
    6. Please wait until finished and wine should now be installed.

After Wine has been successfully installed, please go to the following:
    http://www.java.com/en/download/manual_v6.jsp
Download the Offline Version and double click the .exe file to run using wine(which should be set to default).

At this point you should be ready to install Simba by just downloading the installer from http://wizzup.org/simba/
Following Instructions to install Simba Correctly.

If you still run in to an issue, do not hesitate to ask. For further Information and reference please see the thread:

Never had a problem but true, stick with the official(OPTION 1) version of wine.
