    Tangerine Personal Finance

Welcome to Tangerine. The reason why I wrote this app was simple. The previous bills app I was using, tended to not notify me correctly and barely showed me any sort of data that was relevant to my finances. Tangerine takes this little issue and focuses on showing you all the details pertaining to your finances. Tangerine shows you all of your upcoming and overdue bills. It keeps track of your account balances(set your balance and watch it keep track). It helps you breakdown(by category, by days/weeks and by top expenses) your finances based on the dates you have chosen.

It is a rather slow growing application since I do not currently have disposable Income to promote using Ads and whatnot. Hence, here I am asking for your help to get Tangerine a little bit higher up the charts. I am continuously updating it with new features and new updates based on what my users require. Hence if you have a suggestion for Tangerine, please shoot me a PM, post in this thread, or simply email me using the report bug inside settings. I am fairly good at responding fast.

Tangerine Free version does NOT contain any Ads but does come with certain functionalists being blocked in it. I did not limit any transactions or any types of recurring bills. The things that are limited as strictly settings, and a few aspects of multiple account. Ergo you can use it as a daily drive as a bills app without worrying about adding too many transactions.

P.S if anyone has any ideas on how to promote, feel free to post them I am always open to suggestions.

    It looks nice!

I don't have much of a use for it until I start paying bills ect, but it seems useful for those who do.

Thank you for check it out at least and thank you for saying it. I actually wasn't planning on releasing it but since it was already written I just made it better and posted it up.

Looks good! But I would definately color the action bar. Would make the app look a bit more interesting IMO. A lot of gray going on there which isn't bad.. but the action bar could be another color without distracting users.

By the way, what API are you using in the G/E app? The official RuneScape API is really annoying as you have to give the category ID.

I read your previous posts :P Yeah I could do that.. I'm not sure on their request limit, I could do multiple API calls for every category or something.. I don't really want to start scraping

Actually Requesting Runescape to give up json file isnt the issue. You can easily do that and get it to show information. I was going to change my method a little bit from my server requesting the information to allowing the people to request it using their own IP address. Much easier and safer that way. If u want to work on something and need help, feel free to ask

Looks pretty neat, but how does this compare to Mint/You Need a Budget/Check.me/Quicken/Simple?

Putting Aside the fact that Mint is supported by a team of developers the following is my honest comparison.

Mint & Quicken: Great Piece of software that allows you to be able to manage your accounts completely. Downside, you have to have their accounts and like your bank account with it.

You need a budget: Requirement happens to be that you have to have the desktop version.

Check.me: I believe it is only available for iOS.

Not sure about the other but my app allow you to do manage all of your expenses right from your device. I have future plans to incorporate online synchronization and being able to adjust everything from one central location and have it sync them all but that is later down the line. A lot of the app currently out there limit the number of transactions, specific types of transactions(recurring), or are just plain not supported. I took it a step further, I made my app free to use with any types of transactions. No limitations on the daily usage. The only things limited are the extra features such as Dark Theme or Drop box sync(free version allows backup/restore from/to SD card) and few minor things.

I tried to keep the app simple, straight forward and powerful. It allows you to see all of your expenses all from the main screen along with breakdowns based on categories, time frame, and top expenses based on the time frame you decide.

So the answer to your question, I honestly feel like my app is faster and smoother on an android device than majority of the apps out there. The only way you will be able to decide that is downloading it and testing it out.

EDIT: btw a new update will be rolling out soon that shows a how to in the beginning

Nice job, I like the app but there is an issue with the UI. On my Note 3 the icons that are next to the expenses are stretched. Probably not a huge issue, just thought I'd let you know.
Other than that, works its purpose and I have not came across any bugs will definitely be using this.

Thank you for that. Which icons next to the expenses if you don't mind me asking. I would ask you for a screenshot but the app won't allow it for security purposes. Lol I have to use a third party app to allow take a screenshot of my app.

Looks like you've put in alot of effort into this, looks like an app that I could actually benefit from (money isn't my friend unless I'm spending it..) so once I get paid I'll be chucking this on my phone to keep an eye on things! Good job from first impressions though!
