    Default Jagex bruteforcing?

so i usually play rs for few months or weeks then i go away for a while about 8-12 months (always need to return to the wife once in a while you know), and every time i return jagex seem to have done something crazy like a new combat style or go back to old one (legacy mode). now how does this even make sense if there are 2 different combat mode in the same game!! so people fighting in the wilderness with different combat style sounds weird as hell!! I haven't really been following the OSRS as much anymore, but in general for me legacy seems very nice and fun and seem like will be nicer to make bots for but I can't just put my figure on what the hell jagex trying to do with the game that I spent thousands of hours playing during my middle school years so what are your thoughts on the direction runescape going, where do you guys see runescape in the future, and is legacy a right decision IN YOUR OPINION!

In my opinion jagex is very confused at this moment and seems they are just trying whatever comes into their mind or suggested by "COMMUNITY", and trying everything to revive the game once again. not sure how successful was OSRS

Well runescape is dying, and this is Jagex clinging to a branch as it continually sinks. They'll manage to float for a while, but then they shall die.

I know very little about RS3 but I can say for sure OSRS is not only staying stable but continues to grow. The recent idea for the F2P expansion really helped with this. I believe the current staff of the OSRS team are doing a wonderful job in maintaining the game and the way the game is developing is solid, IMO. Everything that gets put in is player-suggestion and voted in, and if you follow the development blog on the staff you can see how devoted to the community they really are. I trust they'll continue to make the right decisions so, as far as OSRS goes, I don't see it going under any time soon.

If you want an answer to what is actually going on in the game, why not just visit their forums?

I actually went to the recent game updates section just now and:

Apparently "legacy" was nerfed badly? After reading the last few posts in those threads, it actually looks like the current RS players LIKE eoc..

I don't think OSRS is growing. It's just stabled. The amount of online players at any given time seems to be the same. I did see a thread just now asking to remove OSRS because legacy is released. Lol.

If I may quote the OSRS staff:

The trial has been a success in regards to extra members it has bought to the community. The F2P to P2P conversion rate we have seen is as good as Runescape has ever had in the last 5 years.

The average subscriber played Old School for around 23 hours before becoming a member and as you can see from the graph below 90% of players who subscribed, did so before the 11th day of the trial.

The audience changes, they try to move forward. Yes it might cost some other players but they usually come back anyway.
There is a lot of circlejerk around what jagex is doing but in the end don't we all like new and refreshing content? That is my opinion anyway.

There's at least 1 suggestion that they have decided to not try out, thus they're not bruteforcing /thread =)
