    Default Srl membah

Heyyaa, its been some time now since i've been having feels about applying for srl membership, but haven't had time to script in likee a reaally long time! so now i've got some 4-5 "free" days and im planning on making a new script to apply with.. (maybe my cabbage picker?)

But yeah, i wanted to know if someone could give me a hand, i need an idea for a script in which i can show all the "abillities" requested to be a srl member, and the script musn't be extremely long since i dont really have that much time to dedicate to this. My knowledge on RS is not very wide.. i've played on/off since 06 but always f2p, so basically always been a noob heh. so.... what could i script ?

You could make an Edgeville dungeon navigator. It would be pointless, but its F2P and there is abunch of difficult obstacles (gates and stuff) down there. It would definitely require some complex/cool procedures.

You might be able to find something to do down there as well. If you want to make a useful script.

Anything, as long as you fill these guidelines. If you have a good persona, then people won't really care for your script.

    This.

2nd place in an official comp, I'd say you're good to go.

Best of luck if you decide to apply!

They'll be down to 1gp each if he tries to liquidate his potato collection, lol.

You should apply mate, your attitude is great and that's 75% of your application. My script sucks, yet here I am thanks to community contribution and attitude.

EDIT: See Bonsai's post for anyone considering applying based on attitude alone. ^^

A word of caution here, not so much to Undorak as to any random people reading.

Community participation counts for sure. To me it counts more than scripting capability. So someone like undorak who contributes a lot and is very likable may slip through with a basic script. I will typically vote yes if I think someone is an asset to the community or abstain (unless it is an obvious no).

But, I am not representative of the majority.

Scripts are reviewed pretty vigorously and a person will get many no votes if they apply with a simple script. The Mayor made such wonderful tutorials on how to make a basic 'do something and bank it' script that things like this are not going to get received well.

A member app script should show something complex enough that people know you had to take some time and solve a problem. Not the problem of getting it to compile. The problem of figuring out how on earth you're going to get that character to do xyz all the time. And it should have fail-safes and timers and be pretty indestructible.

Camel's idea of a dungeon walker is great.

I'm going to have to agree with Bonsai here. I love community spirit but the Members section isn't just for peope with great attitude. I've heard that script requirements aren't as strict as they used to be, but a good script is still very important.

I always look for original methods how to do stuff. Even if it is implemented sloppy, it is a huge pro.
