It's been spoken about in SRL+, but nothing has really come of it. I think that most people see it as a non-issue.

    the leaks :O

This has been a topic of interest for the longest period of time, but at the end of every debate comes the same result: nothing is changed.

The scripters care immensely more about this than the non-scripters, for obvious reasons. Unfortunately, those with the power to make anything happen seem to fall into the latter group, or they don't have time.
I get annoyed seeing my higher value scripts getting blatantly leeched in Juniors+. It's even more ridiculous to deal with people who feel entitled to the scripts I post. But I have to accept that it is an inevitable result of posting them in less exclusive forums. Besides the leechers, there are many junior members who have been incredibly helpful, contributing bug reports, progress reports, and useful ideas for improvement. I love when juniors post mods for my scripts to add their own features!

I've offered some suggestions in the SRL+ thread for a more effective rank criteria set, but the thread seems to have died.

@core; dealt with it already. Don't think he muted him but some of you should be able to see that he's already been told about it.

I started a similar thread a while back. The responses from older members were interesting. Requirements were hardened before and it proved to hurt participation.

We have plenty of active people who can infract someone. Please use the "report post" if you have any concerns. When this sort of thing happens, it becomes the talk of the town. It will be dealt with.

People who try to spam their way into rankings only hurt themselves. Be it from infractions, banning, or interfering with making friends. This last one can't be overstated. There's a lot more to be had around here than whatever scripts are posted.

In general, it seems to be working. Most people respect the process and try to use their "initiate" time productively.

Please try to direct folks like this to the correct path in a polite manner. If they won't listen, so be it, but try to take the high road instead of blowing a gasket

I think it should be kept at 30 posts, but a stopper put in place for people that spam to get it. Maybe change it so they need to wait 3 months or something to get the rank if they spam.

I think it shouldn't be harder. As a new member, the bar is high enough. It's all new when you join and when more requirements, less people will join and participate

30 minimum posts, but only one post per day will count towards that limit.
There used to be something meaningful here.

Yes, that ties in nicely with the join date requirement

Could even add a nice feature, that if a registered member receives reputation from a post that didn't count towards the limit, it would be counted. The more of a quality post it is, the more likely that user is to get the junior membership earlier.

In this specific case it doesn't look like it was dealt with sufficiently, he wanted to quickly spam up pc for jr member and it looks like he's still gotten what he wanted by doing so.

I don't think I'm "blowing a gasket". I totally understand why they're doing what they're doing (like I said, I don't really blame them). I just think the reqs should be changed so that they're not incentivized to spam and then have to be infracted/muted/pc reset/etc in order to "learn". I don't really care much what happens to the specific person, it just seems like this is going to continue being an issue if it's not dealt with (not a big deal ofc but this doesn't seem like too hard of a problem to tackle )

I do completely agree with you on the point that the reqs shouldn't be very hard, I just think the reqs shouldn't end up incentivizing spam.

I do like that idea, though only 1 postcount a day is a bit stringent. something around 3-5 would make more sense imo, and I love the idea of reputation points being added in, to allow for people to get a boost towards jr member from quality posts (which could technically mean that somebody could become jr member after just 1 very quality post (if they received a bunch of rep from established users)), if that's feasible to implement

+5 rep points from 5 different SRL Members+
+10 rep points from 10 different Jr Members+ (builds a helpful community i'd like to think)
30 Post count with only 5 post per day counting towards your 30 post count total

5 different srl members and 10 different jr members is definitely too much.
A good recent post about what the point of jr member is: https://villavu.com/forum/showthread...60#post1323760

There should be other requirements when it comes to be a SRL Member... Just because I don't use my time for scripting (In school to be a Border Oficer), does not mean I leak, spam, and would not contribute to the community. I feel that I would be more active since I recently got back into Runescape.

Lol, I feel like that happens rarely enough to have someone manually deal with the situation when it happens.

If you add in more reqs it might become confusing to some people, it's already not very clear to newer members (in my opinion) that 30 posts + 1 month is the req for jr members as there are other threads out there that state things like 100 posts or 300 posts + 6 months.
