    Default More spam

Main culprit: @ScriptKiddie;, posting one-line posts (sometimes only a few words) on every thread he can find. He created five seperate threads for five one-line script requests (https://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112218, https://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112208, https://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112206, https://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112205, https://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112204) three of which have consecutive thread IDs. I PM'd him asking him to stop and he evidently ignored me.

Everything BotTheBuilder has posted is the same type of crap.

rs3flaxpicker went for a little bit and then stopped so nothing too bad there.

No, you're spamming. We don't need your kind of "activity"

Unless you have something to contribute, a question to ask, or meaningful feedback to give, don't post.

    Don't defend yourself. Just stop.

Junior membership should require X amount of reputation comments to receive it. That way people know the 30 posts actually have to be useful ones.

Makes sense, seeing as how none of them login.

    Nah you're being a dick.

Protip: There's nothing in the Jr Mems section worth spamming for. Like, at all. Infact, its pretty empty and pretty inactive.

It would take me forever to get 300 posts, especially if they have to contain meaningful information :-p

Just report one of the posts and let a mod deal with it. ScriptKiddie received a warning about spamming 7 hours before this thread was made

    this

or maybe 3 months and 150-200 posts

1 month and 30 posts makes the rank a joke. Anyone else remember when people got junior'd early?

    real junior right here ^

TBH Junior member used to be just that - a junior member. The 'new' junior member rank is more like a 'registered upgraded'. The current junior member rank should just be renamed 'Community member' or something, and make Junior member how it used to be. The current Junior member section could stay the same, except Community members could view the scripts. That way, people can still post scripts and hide them from a majority of the leeches. Of course current Junior members would be grandfather'd in.

Tl;DR there is a massive gap between SRL member and junior member now.

Then what would the difference between community + jr member be?

If it's prestige, I doubt there's a point since there's almost none in either.

nothing's going to change, @Clarity; paid off the admins so that he could get more people helping him lower the price of mud runes (and everybody would yell at him if he released publicly)

I wouldn't even go as far as grandfathering in the Jr+ members that don't have the new requirements... The ones who actually want the title would work towards the new requirements.
(I am aware that this would take away my shiny green title )

Maybe even throw rep into the requirements. Right now its only function is being a green box xD

I agree with you and others. Most Jr. Members that are active and contribute probably wouldn't care if they (temporarily) lost their rank due to requirement updates.

I myself am an OG Junior, I got the rank back when the requirements were 300 posts and 6 months registered time. I have no complaints that the requirements were since lowered, I don't feel like it devalues the rank very much.

However comma, the problem lies in that the requirements for Jr. Membership are 1) low and 2) most quickly achievable by spamming the board. Honestly, I hardly even blame these people - I'd probably spam too if I was them. Doesn't make it okay, you can see their position. Forced to increase their postcount to access a higher board.

If one wishes to meet a requirement of postcount, what can one do except post? Granted, the 30 posts should be meaningful (introduction, asking questions, posting first scripts/progress reports/extensive feedback/constructive criticsm) but we can't expect to ever see that unless we proactively enforce it - and we're not currently, we're taking a reactive approach.

Isn't SRL about contribution and learning? Why, then, is our first rank-up dependent almost solely on postcount? Growing one's e-peen == attaining a rank?

I strongly agree with the reputation idea. Toss out the postcount requirement entirely please, suqeezing out 30 forced posts does not a Jr. Member make. Two (or more) green squares, however, and you can be sure that person is deserving of a rank-up.

You're pretty much how I was back in the day, and I'm one of the only people on the site to get auto promoted to members without having requested or submitted a script

It's funny that, back then.. junior members was pretty meaningful and even though I was a leecher, just from seeing what was around me and how they acted I thought I was doing what the average "OG junior member" should have been doing... getting my testers cup etc
I had hundreds of bots, and I tested literally everything.

I'd say you're pretty out of luck with how dead the staff is now though
back then everyone was very active

    not much TBH

Community member should be like 1 month 30 posts
Junior member should be like 2-3 months 100-200 posts

TBH the previous junior requirements were kind of high. A lot of people just skipped the junior rank (I'm talking about people who didn't come back after a break) because they got into members before reaching 300 posts and 6 months.

I'd like to know how that happened. I doubt it would be worth trying to replicate but dang that's impressive.

Let us say we actually did buff the requirements. What exactly would anyone gain? Assuming the Community Memebers(current Jr rank) still had access to the Jr only scripts then there would be no reason to upgrade to a new and improved title: Junior Member. Also, I really wouldn't want to go back to the old old requirements of 300 posts and 6 months. I'd prefer 2 months and 100 posts or maybe a little higher. I also like the idea of having reputation being worth something, as of now I don't see any use for it.
