    Default Clients freeze up

Why do my clients freeze up at only 20% cpu 40% memory? I'm only running 2 right now.

I'm unsure what you mean by "freeze up," that could apply to many situations, and your system resources may or may not be relevant at all.

A screenshot and a more in-depth description would help.

When I run two or more SMART clients, one of them tends to turn black while the script is working. Also loading the client with direct x seems buggy to me.

Could be an issue with your graphics drivers, ensure you've got the latest ones.

Also, try to run two RS clients simultaneously in a browser, and see if you can replicate the issue.
