    Default Got Logic? Decryption League!

    Welcome to the Decryption League!
I plan on this being a long running event with a competition style basis centered around decrypting Scar written encryption scripts/procedures in Scar!

I'll be periodically releasing encoded messages with hints as to how to solve them and results for the last message (if not said already). Normally, the time gap for submission will close around 24 hours after the message was cracked.

As 'Decryption League' suggests, I'll be keeping a league table of our budding cryptologists. Points will be awarded on the following conditions:
    - First cracked message with the script that cracked it - 3 points
    - Second cracked message with script that cracked it - 2 points
    - Third onwards cracked message with script that cracked it - 1 point
    - Quickest decrypter scripts will replace shortest logical steps - 2 points

I will be requesting that people send me their scripts and messages via PM's to ensure that those who haven't had a chance to attempt/crack it yet still can. If there is enough opposition to this on grounds of me being biased, then you can send your complaints to someone else (I recommend GoF)

All submissions must be able to run from scratch to produce the output!

Feel free to submit your own encryption techniques and you will be awarded 4 points if used, but you will be unable to participate in that specific challenge (obviously).

    Table:
    Jesus: 50 points
    bullzeye95: 15 points
    mastaraymond: 13 points
    Markus: 8 points
    nielsie95: 6 points (away)
    Hobbit: 2 points
    waddo: 1 point

The Charsheet was causing some problems with people, so I decided to remove it. All my decrypted text will consist of a - z, A - Z, 0 - 9, shift + 0 - shift + 9 and appropriate punctuation and including brackets (mainly ASCII chars 32-126).

Winner of the quickest script is... Bullzeye95! It ran approximately 0.05ms faster than mastaraymond's, which was very close, but a difference none the less.

Clue: Increasingly cryptic these clues get, lowered knowledge is the key, for only through continuing to undervalue can you gain the heightening message.

    Cracked it.
    Coded it.
    Done it.

Edit: Keep this going could be good and more people will join keep it bumped (eithen sticky =]).

I can confirm that all the above minus Markus have submitted, all with cracked messages. I'll also be adding a bit more clarity to my post when I get back from London about requiring a decryption script. Lastly, make sure you spam people to come here as the next encryption technique onwards will be pretty hard (especially with my cryptic clues)

Well its kinda weird that bullz and nielsie got the shortest one, cause in theory thats what every of my scripts did.. (EVEN MY FIRST ONE!).

Your first one had 3 loops mastaraymond and I have a strict method of only keeping your latest submission as your shortest, because I may have to check through 2 more scripts otherwise
If you want, I can actually go through them and write it out, but I can think of better things to do (such as inventing a hydrogen-fueled waffle copter), so it may take a year or two

New encryption up! Enjoy, though it should hopefully take longer than an hour or two now

If I give you a scar script that you simply won't be able to crack the encrypted message it generates, do I win? Note, its an algorithm I made, not one I got from somewhere else. Let me write it in scar :P

Its been proven that the best encryption/decryption method is a one-time pad.

For example, IN + PAD = OUT mod 26. That means OUT - PAD = IN mod 26. So, therefore, unless you know the pad, it is impossible to crack. But if you use the same pad twice... Naughtiness. I won't tell you, look it up on wikipedia.

We'll do it a little differently, here is the encrypted output:
Bjl eiie i jnwx ysu hacswz apl ebgwz iv zr habf c kwpvwl cjiwure<

    Here is the input:
Why make a half ass cypher and cover it up with a fucked charset?

Anyone think they can crack that? It would be impossible without the input, and may still be. It is key based, but giving you that wouldn't make it much easier

Edit: That one time pad uses the same theory mine does, without that one time unique same sized key bs, lol.

I'm terrible at decrypting myself and often struggle with decrypting my own encryption processes even though I know how I do them
I'll of course have a try, but it's the one-time message long key that makes in uncrackable as it means that any char could be any char.
Also, added another clue since they were all whining at me last night saying it's too hard even though it's almost as easy as the last. They keep giving me too much credit and throw things like the RC4 cipher, Base64 etc. at me thinking I could be bothered to script that

You're kidding me! I spent the last 3 hours trying to find a decent RC4 decryption algorithm to port to scar! Wahhhhhhh...

Its not a one time message long key, its a single, short, easy to remember key (think password sized) that is used to encrypt. However, that is the genius behind the algorithm, it does end up replacing the same character with many different characters.

Because I know what that means

Anyways, I think I know what to do... let's see if I'm right.

It is true if you use a one time pad conventionally it must only be used once, because if I intercept two encrypted messages I can simply subtract one from the other and get the key

It doesn't have to be the same size though... Just repeat from the beggining.

An one time pad has to be the same length otherwise it is vulnerable, though still only very slightly. Having 2 encrypted messages will once again make it more vulnerable, but still very secure. Subtracting one message from the other will give you the difference in chars - if you had 2 encrypted messages and one of the decrypted messages then you could work out the other through subtraction, otherwise it's near impossible. If an one time pad is shorter than the message length, then it isn't an one time pad, but merely a key that's added on.
