Default Australia to become a Republic!

"Well, in other news, Kevin Rudd is forming with the opposition leader to agree to transform Australia into a republic."

I reckon Australia is great the way it is currently! The government already has enough money as it is, so why are they're trying to fix it. An old saying goes: 'If it ain't broke, it ain't need fixing!'.

I remember they took a vote in 1999, and [i]mostly/i] everyone had answered no, so it wasn't formed. However, i think that there will be no voting system. But i reckon it won't happen anyway.

What are all your opinions on this? I'd (and many others) would like to know

Australia is fine for young people like you and I, not for adults who actually know what the hell they're talking about.

The issue of income and major financial responsibilities hasn't hit you yet.

wait your school has laptops for you too keep?
my schools just wasting there money buy 100 itouch's for teachers the mark the role with i think that's a but stupid.
And all there doing is buying laptop after laptop for students to use bit we have enough.
They have also made laptop classes where there the 15 top and good students have one class that use laptops and they get to use it for the hole day.
They don't spend any money on buying new pc's only mac's. Also NOT buying stuff for Creative arts, TAS(i fogot the long name for it and Science department.
My school is Arthur Phillip High School (its a technology school)

Ohh and i think Australia is good as it is now no need for any change (i think its so they dont get kicked out for making Australia bank rupt)
They would have to make wayyy too many changes if they do anyway

    DUMB KEVIN RUDD

Excuse my ignorance.. but what would change if Australia became a Republic?(No wikipedia definitions of republic please)

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."
    — Theodore Roosevelt
