Read the last part of that article. It is completely accurate (though I use ff, myself).

The main difference between Opera/IE/Chrome and Firefox in this respect is that the former are all closed source and run by for-profit companies. When a bug rolls around, you have to wait until the next major version for their devs to get around to a whole whack of fixes.
Firefox is a community project, thus most flaws are reported, patched, and included in a minor version/nightly build within a few days.

And yet plenty of vulnerabilities still take months to get fixed, if that.

I'd rather download and install firefox than live in a constant fear of getting a trojan or some crap off a site just by visiting it.

“Problems like this are found all the time but Microsoft always has a fix. What’s new about this situation is that there is no fix."

That wouldn't really make me feel any better about the situation. IE sucks anyway, only noobs that don't know about the better options use it.

    Different virus.

And believe it or not, Firefox isn't that better off than IE. It's just that IE's problems are more widely publicized and visible.

Wouldn't say so, I think hackers like to do viruses and stuff for more... "Commercial things", e.g people who are new with computers, or just basic users, use internet explorer and as they are so new, they also get easily fooled.

I'm just saying that in terms of security flaws, both IE and Firefox have their fair share.

Commendable that they tell everyone, IMO.

    But anyways.

The websites corrupted by the hackers are mostly Chinese, and have been programmed to steal passwords for computer games which can be sold for money on the black market.
    Muahaha! Mixster would love that

Heh, this was on Warez-BB too, but pretty much everyone there used Firefox anyway. Kinda weird for it to steal game accounts though.

Also, Firefox can't be crashed by sites like this one (warning: crashes IE just like I said, but people never read the whole sentance..).

Also, there's no real point to developing exploits for open-source browsers, someone'll just figure out what it's doing and fix it. Then Firefox goes "Onoes! You can has security update!" and then everyone has the security update when they bother to restart it.

Lots of people I know have the Windows automatic updates turned off because they restart your computer when you go afk for 5 minutes

Things like this wouldn't happen if Microsoft didn't build IE so deep into their OS. For instance, Macs Safari is a separate application, and most Linux distro's come with firefox installed but not embedded into the OS. What Microsoft did just invited hackers to exploit the ever present vulnerabilities that Microsoft left.

DO N0T SWITCH TO GOOGLE CHROME IF YOU AUTO.

It doesn't work like IE and/or Firefox.

Trust me on this, I know.

Communism just own MS's capitalist asses. That is why MS only became really massive after the "fall" of the USSR, otherwise they would have to repair security flaws every other day (as USSR workers have every other day off).
By reading this signature you agree that mixster is superior to you in each and every way except the bad ways but including the really bad ways.

I hate FF to be honest. I had it for like 1 week, and went back to IE 8.0, I cant stand FF, you cant even download things by clicking 'Run' you have to save it and it sucks well bad, when you DL shit as much as I do.

    I just stick with IE.

    EDIT: 1k! XD
