    Default Regarding N C D S

    He has been banned for two weeks. (Until Feb 1)
    He has been suspected of changing passwords of 1 RS account, but there is real proof he has, except for an IP.
    N C D S has not denied being on the account.

    However, he claims a friend of him quickly changed the password when N C D S was away.
    This also explains why no items were removed from the account. (As far as I am informed, nothing was taken.)

    >< The classic, over used, "My friend changed it while I was away." As far as I've seen, that excuse has never checked out.

    I don't know much as I only really just came back today, but from what I'd seen he seemed like an OK member. Maybe he did have someone do it while he was over (although the chances are very unlikely).

    I also know what its like to have an account stolen (those who remember exppo) and its not the best feeling when your work is taken away instantly by someone selfish.

    I actually believe him, he seems like a nice guy on the forums and msn, but who knows.

    He deserved what he got, regardless of it being him or his friend. Don't log onto someone else's account, just change the pass and pm it to them!

    I have also trouble believing he has done that (we still can't know for sure), he has a great attitude.
    Stories about a friend are always seen as 'lame' excuse.
    However, seeing nothing had been removed, I didn't think a de-memberize would be in order.

    well, at least nothing was taken, that's the main thing. However, if it was him he would have either taken stuff, or felt bad and backed out, one of the two.

    I agree that N C D S was usually a good guy
    But I also agree a ban is applicable

    SCAR Code:
    if(StealAccount)or(AllowFriendToStealAccount)then
    begin
      Dec(Reputation);
      Dec(Respect);
      Banned := True;
      Members := True; //keep this true
    end;

    To prevent this problem you could make a rule saying that you cannot let other people use your account. Then even if they make the friend excuse they get banned, that way you don't have to worry about whether or not it was actually them or the friend.

    Well, it's not like he's been banned from MSN or email.

    Random events getting solved relies on other people being nice enough to let you use their account.
    The random events I have solved would have taken a very long time otherwise.

    He means SRL account, not Runescape account. At least, that's what I understood.

    almost, that it is not what they meant, they meant N C D S should not have let his friend on his "SRL ACCOUNT", not runescape account. The account stolen was not leant, then stolen, the person left a pass in a script, and someone logged in on N C D S, whether it was him or not took it. Hope that cleared things up for you. You will probably always be able to borrow accounts for random solving .

    I always see people around here blaming their friends in rs ban appeals (or little brothers). It just seems like the main component of SRL users (no offense, but early to mid teens) have a hard time taking responsibility? I dunno, but if he would have said, "Yeah, I tried stealing it, but you caught me", I bet he would be banned, so if it was an accuse, it worked well.

    Exactly. I did not mean RS accounts. I meant SRL accounts. It should be against the rules to let people use your account. It is almost like script leaking because it gives people access to areas the normally wouldn't have. If the friend would have been a SRL member they could have used their own account.

    Hmm , 2 week ban fair enough. I am disipointed tho. If i had a friend over and he went on my SRL Account and took an account, and i got blammed for it. In my post i wouln't say my friend did it i would take full responsibilty for him as , he was allowed on the computer what had acsess to the SRL account .
