6gb seems more than enough. And I could always replace if it's not, but it should be.

The PC is for gaming, by the way.

For the price it's quite decent ^^
Still in love with my Acer Predator, 8GB RAM, 2.83 Ghz Processor, etc.
1400€... not cheap, but it's definately worth it... I would definately encourge you to buy it xD

I spent £850 on my PC at the start of the year, 4GB ram, 1TB hdd, nvidia 9800gt, it was good, but for GTA IV it sucked.

It started off having vista, but then I put XP onto it, since then it's being going fine, just it can't download GTA IV of steam :<

If I were you, I would get it, the only thing I would say is that consoles are generally the better option for gaming.

What OS you going to run?

If vista/xp you better do the 64bit version or all that ram will go to waste.

Meh, not for now. I'm worrying first about keeping it cool. Any ideas for that first?

Lol, any advice on a i7 setup? seriously? Anyway if you want even more performance try to get two SSD's setup in raid. But that is probably way out of your price range atm.

If you are going to spend that much money, you may as well pay a bit more and get a velociraptor. Possibly two, and run them in RAID, but a RAID card that will be able to keep up with them would cost a lot AFAIK. If space is an issue, you could always run two of them, or get a 7200 RPM one to keep stuff like pictures and music on.

Don't bother with SSD for at least a year. Buy 2 of those normal hard drives now, even if you don't implement the RAID 0 until later. If you want data backup and performance, that MB does support RAID 0+1 with 4 drives, but I don't recommend it. As a gamer, you're better off with a RAID 0 for performance, and then an external USB HD, or NAS etc.

I would also suggest this too http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...%20V8%20cooler You might be able to get away without it, but you will probably end up wanting it later, and the thing is you might as well install it in the beginning during the build rather than having to do twice the work later. Don't bother with water cooling unless you're doing extreme overclocking.

Although Nvidia was lazy with Vista drivers, it looks like you should be fine for Win7. 1.75 gigs should be great.

All in all: I'll be jealous .

Haha, I guess I should have bolded the part about not being able to afford it.

And yeah Boreas for most people SSD's are way to expensive for most people, especially with the storage you get for what you pay. The technology is getting there though.

I have been told to get a 60gb SSD drive and have it as my boot drive, and get sub 15 full load up. But obviously these are expensive, but I might try it.

You could get two 32gb intel ones and raid them for faster speed. I don't know how much more that'd cost though. You would put all your programs like photoshop on them.

just get a small SSD for the OS/program files, like 16-32 gigs, then a regular HDD for storing all the movies/games/music you illegally download

    Starcraft!

Anyway, why would you need so much RAM? I never fill up more than 1GB, let alone 6GB. Starcraft runs with 16MB mem or something.

I'm not really sure, but I know that it will not hurt in the long run.

Glad to hear someone plays Starcraft! Excited for #2?

Brain, a small one is still really expensive. On a side note, come to my town and put this thing together for me will ya? Haha JK.
