    RadialWalking

    How Does It Work?

    RadialWalking relies on angular intercepts with your specified color (target).
    Basicly, all it does: it scans your minimap in a set direction with a set radial angular distance within a certain radius(distance) from the centre of minimap.

    If it then finds the color you told it to look for (I.e Roadcolor or Unique Tree color) It will then click on that color on the Minimap.

    RadialWalking is used for walking on all type of terrains and locations. This guide will teach you how to radial walk anywhere you like. I will update this guide from peoples responses etc.

    Part 1: Setting Angles & Radius

    Start off In Lumbridge (for this excercise).
    When I do radialwalking, I ALWAYS adjust my compass to a certain direction so that my angles are aligned, but you dont always have to do that ( I will show that later on). However if you want flawless walking you will have to.

    USE: (N, E, S, W) This will align your minimap in North East, West or South.

    SCAR Code:
    MakeCompass('N');

    Now you are officiallyready for RadialWalking precedure. Open up S.C.A.R, click the open scripts box and Select RadialWalkingAid (RWA).

    Select the capture screen button and you willsee your RS MiniMap pop up in the middle.

    Now look carefully above, you will notice that the I place the first point a bit to the side of the road, this is because I want SCAR to start scanning from that point. This is the STARTRADIAL.

    As you see, the second point is to the other side of the road, hence the ENDRADIAL. - The Radius is the distance AWAY from the centre of the minimap you wish to click. Once you entered all the details, select "SHOW PATH", this will demonstate how SCAR will scan for the color you specified (youcan use Color Picker tool on your minimap to select roadcolor). Notice: SCAR will start scanning from the EDGE -> INWARDS.

    Part 2: Walking away from the Road.

    Suppose you need to walk away from the road, like cross a bridge or suming then panic no-more. Look above you,you will see how I set my radial path to scan for the brown STEM part of the unique tree symbol on the map. Notice how there are other same tree symbols in thearea, but S.C.A.R will only click on that one because of the Scanning Area I had set it.

    You can use this method to find banks, special landmarks and other terrains making RadialWalk fantastic to navigate with.

    Part 3: Radialwalking without Unique Symbols/Identifiers/Roads

    Ok, so you are in the middle of the desert, all around you on Minimap are NO symbols whatsoever... worry not, you can get out of this mess pretty easily.

    As you can see, I have made a REALLY SMALL radial angular distance in this case of only 2 degrees. This is because I want the arrow to click as close DUE south as possible. For it to do that I will have to select SANDCOLOR as my unique Identifiyer- even though its not unique and 70% of the minimap color is covered by that same color! It will still click due south doe to the fact that it scans from the edge -> inwards meaning you can navigate through deserts and other terrain.

    Part4: General Setup & Radial Commands

    There are 2 Radial commands which I use most frequently:

    RadialWalk("Color",x,y,xmod,ymod,integer)
    and
    RadialRoadWalk("RoadColor",x,y,xmod,ymod,integer)

    One is used for generally walking to any color, the other is specificly road walking.

    To Obtain "COLOR" simple use the color picker tool in scar and select the unique color on your minimap. Then simple copy & paste it.

    When navigating through similar terrain as seen in Part:3,make sure
    SCAR Code:
    MakeCompass('N');

    I hope this tutorial has helped you understand some concepts in radialwalking I will be adding to it more advanced features once I get more time. Please feel free to comment and make suggestions for improvements.

    If you feel this tutorial has helped you understand radial walking a bit better then please feel free to add or subtract to my Rep.

    Thanks

    Thanks man this is really good!
    I think Its a bit easier to understand than other RadialWalk guides, but that may be because its shorter and I remember what i read once I finish it haha.

    Good Work

    Yay! I finally understand! But does anyone know if this could work walking on grass and such?

    It could, you just need a procedure to get the grass color.

    Sumilion made a really nice procedure for that.

    SCAR Code:
    AutoColorThis(Bitmap, MaxTol, X1, Y1, X2, Y2:Integer)

    Here's a Bitmap for the grass color:

    SCAR Code:
    Grass := BitmapFromString(20, 10, 'z78DA3373347333743443264' +
           'DE9428EDAEB38A0F6D2DA2583D95E5A873331E2B4B6979EE98A8E' +
           'F60200396F0F84');

    Edit:

    By the way, great tut! Much better than mine

    ok now i get confused, why do you use "Radial" as your "End Radial"??

    Because after you find the first radial (Start Radial), you click on the minimap again to find your End Radial - so to get that point you need to refer to Radial =

    I believe Radial = {x} Tells {x}degrees from 0.
    Radial 2 = {y} Tells the degree from 360+{x}degrees.
    Then Radius = {k} Is simply just how far away from the center of the minimap the point is.

    If you can read that, I hope it helped.

    {=========== help? ===========}
    SCAR Code:
    RadialRoadWalk(FindRoadColor, 26, 46, 65, 0, 1);
    Doesnt work for me. It never finds the RoadColor. Heres my whole procedure - a big 3 lines.

    SCAR Code:
    procedure TakeAWalk;
    begin
       WriteLn('Beginning walk...');
       RadialRoadWalk(FindRoadColor, 26, 46, 65, 0, 1); //Leaving bank
       Flag;
    end;

    Any insight? Thanks much!
