    What's gmail?

    I'm in, though.

Whatsay we work on a tutorial runner? Would be a nice big project, and would help out the community, I think.

I suggest using code.google.com as a subversion repository.

Uhh... if someone wants to work on POMS they should be skilled enough to at least be members, if they think they are skilled enough they can PM me or whatever and show me what they can do, otherwise I don't see a reason to let in anyone in the whole world. This is you're thing though, if you want to work with JRs thats fine, just pick an original name -.-

Tutorial runner was next on our list aswell... -.-

    1) SRLS stands for what?
    2) Why make a Jr member one? Jr members can USE the other scripts, they just cant WORK on them And SRL members are proven to be good at scirpting, Jr Members aren't, so why don't the Jr members who want to help with the project just apply for members, prove that they are good scripters, and then help?

So yeah pretty much we have it for members + since we know they can script, if JR members want to help then they can apply for members and then help.

OK, then continue here J_Pizzle. Perhaps I can contribute a bit to this project as well... I like it when projects are open about their development.

Why not just make it so that it doesn't require anyone to register to commit? 'True' open source, as it were.

For the same reason you need to register to post on the forums.

Maybe this is meant to build up the confidence of the jr members and give them incentive to get better at scripting

and no offence but that post is kinda rude your saying that all jr members suck at scripting and only members are good at scripting

I think you mistook "open development" for "open source". There is more to open development that open source. Open mindedness, for example.
I think disallowing Junior members to contribute in any way is an example of closed mindedness.

Why not let them suggest patches? They don't need to have commit rights, but I think drawing the line at SRL Members is a bit harsh, and I also believe lots of junior members are decent scripters. This is also how normal Open Source works.

So, being a bit more open minded about POMS would do it good, in my opinion.

"if they think they are skilled enough they can PM me or whatever and show me what they can do"

I'm not exactly drawing the line at members, I've already let in 1 jr member just a few minutes ago. The source is completely open and there is a test thread which encourages people to post 'suggestment patches', and if they are decent scripters why can't they just ask to join or apply for members? I don't recall a single person that wanted to be a part of POMS ever been regretted the ability to.

Then I see no need for this other project.

maybe we could make it part of the SRL SVN? Or make a different SVN with public community scripts. It could all be done on these forums without the need for gmail.
Just make a new sub-forum for the scripts, making it similar to the 'SRL Public SVN' sub-forum.

Bad idea, and that doesn't really work that way.
