    Default SCAR Divi 3.25 Beta

    Hey,

It has come to my attention that there seems to be some confusion about the SCAR Divi 3.25 Beta release. SCAR 3.25 is meant to revitalize SCAR Divi, to provide a stable, efficient and high performance product. However, it is not yet finished, as is indicated with the "Beta" tag it wears. Gigantic parts of the program have been trashed and rewritten from scratch to improve performance, stability and not forgetting to expand the capabilities of the program. However, even though the current beta version of the program is very stable, it still has bugs and unfinished features as it is still in it's development phase. The objective of the public prerelease versions I supply is to give everyone a chance to help improve the product by testing it and/or get in a peek of what's to come. Once the product is completed and sufficiently stable, it will replace the SCAR 3.22 release as official mainstream product. If any remaining bugs were to be found later on, these will be released as SCAR 3.25a afterwards.

So basically, the prerelease versions are for testing purposes only, I can not guarantee they will always be 100% stable as they're in active development, but it's always nice to get some additional testing input to improve the product.

    ~Freddy

Instability? E.G. The plugin loader is not backwards compatible?

    Now Now boys, play nice.

@Freddy, Thank you for clearing up some confusion. It's nice to know that you have not gotten discouraged thus far and I hope you do not in the future. Keep up the good work and please be sure to keep us updated.

Though your claim of instability is unfounded and invalid as you're unwilling to even try the program and as such have no ground to base that claim on, yes there are currently 3 backwards compatibility issues.

    These 3 are:
    - String parameters in plugin functions
    - Regex functions
    - The Next editor controls

They will all be addressed soon to ensure full backwards compatibility.

So, basically you're saying I'm wrong, except for the admitted fact that I'm right? Funny how I can have no grounds and still be completely right, I must be a god or something xD

Edit: I also meant to say that my grounds for this were getting people to test a plugin that worked in previous versions of SCAR but failed in the "most recent beta" of scar. I think thats a pretty solid position IMHO.

stability has no link to backwards compatibility. And even if you want to think it is, i would think that the fact that it is a beta would make your argument invalid as long as it is fixed in the release version.

Completely valid, but this thread is based off a discussion started elsewhere that ended with the conclusion that backwards compatibility was a good idea, and that the beta wasn't intended to be the official supported version. Both of which were my points in the previous discussion.

I only drop in here about once a month but it's interesting to see that SIMBA has not killed SCAR, as I originally thought would happen :/
