    Default Recreational Jogging

Is there anyone else here who is a recreational/competitive runner? My season just got done, and I am not very good. I love running though. My PR 1600 Meter run is a 5:16 and my PR 3200 Meter is an 11:42. I am not much of a runner body type, but I still run everyday. I am wondering who all runs and is a runner.

I wouldn't call myself a runner, but I've been doing a bit of running recently so I can improve. Any ideas if how to avoid getting a stitch? I usually get one 5-10 minutes into running and forces me to walk for a bit.

Personally, I run a lot. I'm incapable of doing anything else physical (imagine the opposite of the guy who skips leg day -- that's me) so I need it to avoid becoming unhealthy.

What's your fastest mile? I can do around 6:00.

I used to run track competitively in school but I still do a bit of jogging a few times a week. My 800m pb was 1:56 and 1500m 3:57 (about a 4:15 mile).

I have found that eating and staying hydrated keep them away from me.

That's right, staying well hydrated and a steady supply of fruits, for example, help with this. I never knew the term for that actually but I know what you're talking about. That will improve over time and you'll run for longer the more often you jog. Just as other sports go, your body will adjust and improve and you'll "stitch" much less often due to your endurance improving.

Those times are amazing. Did you compete at the University or High school level? Those times are VERY impressive.

For reference, Google says that 4:12 is the fastest women's mile, 3:43 is the fastest men's. London 2012 1500m was 3:34, so I'd say Mayor ran pretty competitively. That's impressive.

High school, university sports isn't really a thing here in NZ. A lot of the top athletes here will go to university in the states just to compete in the NCAA.

Ah, I didn't know that. I guess being from the United States, sports are a little different in priority. Still, those times are VERY impressive.

yoU can practice on your posture while running and how you breathe while running as when i started to focus on them my stitches left. They also leave by practise as ur taking more oxygen in
edith yeah and dont drink lots of fluids before running as this affects as well i forgot to say it
