Can't get out of quest

Ok so I log on to rs3 and all of a sudden I'm in a weird cutscene, anyway before I know it I'm stuck in this quest called The Bird and the Beast.

I can't seem to find a way to get out this quest. A little help guys?

P.S - I don't want to complete it I just want out.

Are you on a new account? You might be talking about the new tutorial island thing. For cutscenes you can usually skip it by pressing the esc key.

The new update isn't a new quest as far as I know. It isn't listed in the quest log for me anyway.
I'm guessing you are in the tutorial place, Ashdale if it is a new account like Hadley said.

Not a new account, not in tutorial place. I was on yesterday everything was fine, did the tutorial thing a month or two back.

Just logged on and these arrows took me to some guy. I gotta pick a side (Bandos or Armadyl) and fight in some war.

I really don't want to...

EDIT: Apparently this is a World Event, how did you guys get out of the first one? Did you have a choice?

I just changed my active task to something like the daily challenges which has a button you can switch off to hide the stupid arrow. I'm sure there is an easier way to get rid of it but idk

Go to the tasks section of your menu, go to current, (Then somewhere is settings) and you can leave the world event.

I got the arrow when i logged in but wasnt forced to go anywhere, then it disappeared.

Make sure you have no tasks pinned. I think they pin themselves automatically sometimes.
