Yep. Most of his work was behind the scenes too. After the big hack wizzup even said it would have been the end of SRL if it wasn't for core.

I was talking to core right before he quit, here's my $0.02:

There were many people off-site (IRC and Skype chat) who would speak extremely negatively about core's ability as an admin. I heard there was a "f---core" hashtag that people decided was cool, but I wasn't online at the time so I can't directly confirm. Core heard about this and was obviously disappointed. There were some people ganging up on him in IRC as well. While I was private chatting with him, it became clear that he was being attacked daily by many members of the community and it was taking a toll on him. He told me that he was leaving for both personal reasons and because these people thought the community was better without him.

I'm glad to hear that nothing negative was said about him on the SRL Skype. I saw it in IRC right before he quit, there were personal attacks from various sources (well known members). I'm pretty disappointed that #srl is our public face for many people because it's toxic and nobody is immune, but that's a whole 'nother story.

It's sad to see him leave, because he was very important behind the scenes. As they say, nobody leaves SRL forever, so hopefully he'll be back and refreshed from his personal time off.

To be fair the skype chat can get pretty sh*ty too, but not as self righteous.
