It should work on Windows 8. Have you installed the SRL-OSR include? You may have done it wrong. Follow these instructions:

Assuming you have Simba installed and it is updated, then installing SRL-OSR is easy.

First, you need to download the ZIP file from here. Just click the ZIP button which looks like this:

Then you need to extract that file to C:\Simba\Includes\ [Put it here]

Make sure the folder is named "SRL-OSR" not "SRL-OSR-master" as shown here:

Let me know if that works

Yes, start from the beginning. Follow the steps in the Quick Setup Guide I linked in my first post. Once that is done, try running an EOC script before you install the OSR include, just to make sure everything is working.

Extensions Update ERROR: Couldn't extract the tar archive. when I click install, i get that-- Is that irrevelant? or? and whenever I try to update srl msi and sps I get this, You have a new update available for Plugins!
You have a new update available for SRL!
You have a new update available for SPS!
You have a new update available for MSI!
But it goes no farther then that, when i click update afterwards.
    The updates never happen...
and now when I attempt to use a eoc script I get the following popup.
"Something went wrong in Simba. If you press OK,Simba
will try to save your scripts then close.
    (recommended) See C:/Program
    Files/Simba/ErrorLog_26-04-13_18-19-00.txt for more
    information"

Ok, on Coh3ns thread it says this

Update ERROR: Couldn't extract the tar archive ~ install WinRAR or another archiving software
Try installing something like WinRAR and see if that fixes it.

1 last thing. Try right-clicking Simba and running as admin before you update it.
