Default How to get a job.

    Hi,

I'm finishing up my Baccalauréat exams soon and most people go straight to studying next year. I don't want to do that because I can't, I live alone and while in lycée (I believe this is high school in english) I get some money to live for. I still live at my parents' house but they live in Sweden and I'm here, alone in Paris.

I need a job real bad next year, but jobs are rare in Paris, especially for younger people (18-25) without any form of degree, so I was wondering if any of you had some tips to help me find one..

I've been spending the last few weeks running around depositing my Curriculum Vitae everywhere, without getting a single answer. Not even McDonalds employs people at the moment...

    Thanks in advance.

since you mentioned mc, am going to assume you want a job: any job? am i right here?

Why not send your resume to a manpower company and let them find work for you in your living area, i dont live in france and i havent used my french in a while, i supposed a good place to start is online websites that advertise jobs, in israel we have several one time i just mass sent my resume and in leas than a day i got several work interviews so i picked the most relevant for me, temp work.

anyway if this is for your field of studies then try to find work in your faculty

    sent from phone

Persevere is all you can do really. If you hand out enough CVs, someone will reply eventually.

    but in Australia..

I've gotten 2 jobs doing pretty simple factory work(no qualifications) just by walking in and asking if they were hiring..

    FACTORYS also pay awesome!!

Its all about who you know mostly, but for you like other people said, just get out there and talk and hand out a bunch of CVs

Find odd jobs. Dig a ditch, push brooms, shitty work that no one wants to do. Eventually if you work hard enough they move you on to other (less shitty) jobs. I suggest picking up a trade, unless you already know exactly what you want to do in university. A degree isn't even remotely required for a successful career

Building on what Awkwardsaw said about the jobs no one wants to do, sometimes they can actually pay really well, and that's because no one wants to do them. As an example, over here some binmen get paid £30k+. There's no debating that's decent money.

Apply to places you would enjoy working. Don't go applying everywhere desperately lol. Recently I got a summer internship, and they said a certain past experience helped me clinch the job. So my advice is try and see what sets you aside from others, and use that as your advantage when applying to a job that fits that specific trait. =)Best of luck mate

Get work through a connection (if you have none, you better start making friends & make sure to let them know that you're available).

That's one of the most effective ways of hiring/getting hired in the business world. Obviously you will also need to have the qualifications and proper resume and blahblahblah (depending on what jobs specifically that you're capable and interested in doing)
