    Default Warning, Skype Ratter

So I was added on skype by James Brownie (his skype is uneek.james). He says he wants to buy some boots, then he proceeds to fail at social engineering me into downloading his rat. Pictures:

    His Skype info:

I also found a post of his on HackForums two weeks back begging for help with a rat:

Anyway, don't add him on Skype, don't trade with him, ect.

Yeah, I'm safe. He really ought to be more careful where he posts his skype name

I guess so. One click google search and there it is. Good work and good luck finding someone legitimate to buy the boots.

I would have accepted it. To be honest, if the only reason you turned it down was because the icon, I have bad news for you. He can easily change the icon. That extension says .png.

However, after accepting it, I'd simply carefully right click it, go to properties and see the application type. Still congrats on dodging a potential bullet. Sin is right. Looks like a skid.. No one who knows anything would distribute with an icon like that -__- Still it's sad that microsoft doesn't show the full extension such as: ImageName.png.exe.

does too! you have to enable some setting under file options, you have to uncheck hide extensions for files you know or something.

Thanks for the heads up, the image was only part of the reason I didn't trust it though. The file is also called 07 Bank #Orcs , which makes no sense because this was an EOC trade, why would I want a picture of his 07 bank? And I know he could easily rename it, just shows how little he knows again. Also I would have asked him to send it over puush or imgur anyhow, I don't like downloading an image to my pc just to look at it

I use Total Commander as my main file explorer, it shows the extension specifically, you can also do that on windows explorer to explicitly see a Detail Column with the extension

I've set it to display the full extension like Kasi suggested, it's working well

Also pay attention to something like "1234.png - trustme@yahoo.com". Unvelievable how many fall for this.
Btw skype creates the logo by looking at the extension, doesn't it? It is not the logo of the file itself.

lol never even accept pictures on skype. Just get them to upload them. You would have to be stupid to accept it even if you do normal accept pictures.
