It's open to everyone, go check it out:
http://www.runescape.com/beta
The url: http://www.runescape.com/game.ws?html5=1
has existed for quite some time :S however, Iunno what changes they made today; applet not found :l
It takes me back to the original screen. I think that link used to actually point to the NIS html5. Now it leads no where.

How do you even play it? I click Go to beta, "Play HTML5 Beta", "Continue" and then it leads me back to the first screen..
Ohh I see.. it works only when you're logged in. Thus making it a closed beta. I just tried it on my third f2p account. It's a no go. My first f2p account works and so does my members one.
Beta is actually closed :l Logging in allowed me access though. It takes like 10 minutes to get everything cached and all shaders loaded.. holy crap lag. It's live though. I gain xp here, it saves when I go back to regular RS. The interface looks like the RS2 one :l
EDIT: Not sure why but it runs waaaaaayyyy better in high detail :S In low detail I get near 3 FPS. High detail I get near maxed :l dunno why.

That image will make you have to restart your computer.. HUGE memory leak!
Players who are running, their legs do not move. You just see them sliding across the floor lol. Their legs move only sometimes.

Every time I run it I get new errors. I can login, but after that...
Working on: Tithe Farmer
I tried it a couple of weeks back. Don't like it one bit to be honest.

Wont botters be obvious with a fixed screen? Probably won't get custom on fixed screen... could potentially be a botstopper?
OGL doesn't necessarily need a fixed screen, it would just take a little bit longer to search a window twice the size of the current one but that means you can see twice as many area/objects/NPCs. It has both advantages and disadvantages. I still need to try it out and see what it does.
Say you aren't using OGL and are using SMART which requires fixed. Fixed will not have a customizable interface and almost everyone will have their interfaces customized- except botters. What I'm getting at is could this update be a sifter which seperates the botters from the legitters.
To be honest I doubt they'll filter based on interface customisations. What about the players who can't stand change and want it as close to what it was like before as possible? Also, scripts could customise the interface to run more efficiently, so I doubt everyone botting would have the same interface layout.

I'm not going to say too much because I'm not sure how much info we want public at this point.
Current projects:
[ AeroGuardians (GotR minigame), Motherlode Miner, Blast furnace ]

you're the Earth and I'm the sky..."
If you want to enable WebGL on Android or Linux for Chrome you need to:
1. Open Chrome
2. Navigate to chrome:\\flags
3. Scroll to WebGL support, hit enable
4. Restart Chrome
5. You can now play HTML5 RuneScape
My phone (HTC One) isn't registering any clicks though, so I can't log in.. but I can load RS3.
On my other Ubuntu desktop RS3 runs rather smooth especially considering the 3-4 years old hardware that is in there. On my main Windows 8 desktop with a significant better CPU/GPU it does barely run any better.
And for my actual experience.. I think the new interface system is great. Especially if you lower the opacity and place them just the way you like it is incredibly handy. It's also amazing that they managed to port it to WebGL/HTML5 and it runs well for me.
Considering the NIS is now working for HTML5 I will now be testing on my Windows 8 desktop.
EDIT: Playing on max graphics without bloom (I don't like it..) I get around 25-30 FPS which is playable. On the lowest settings I seem to get around 50 FPS. The music is amazing and I recommend everyone to play with music ON.
Here is a gallery of a few images I took. The world map and minimap has changed @Brandon; the minimap range seems to have increased: http://i.imgur.com/Se4mM0Wh.jpg I'm not sure if that is also the case for the Java based version (probably not) but you never know.)

Also attached the Bootstrap.js RS3 uses.

Only happens in the HTML5 version. I just tried to get the larger map in the Java version (via Smart and browser), maps are still the same size.
However, I noticed that in high detail, that detail is applied to the maps as well. Low detail = low detailed maps. max brightness = brighter maps. Transparency = maps have them too [but not if I save them as a bitmap]. Anti-aliasing, maps have them too.
So basically all details will affect SRL and it applies to all interfaces (the entire game). Need a standard detail mode or else the developer would have to develop scripts for specific details. Personally, non-resizeable looks extremely small.. well you can barely see anything. Game basically got more complexed. Especially with transparency and all that.
TLDR; SPS might need an update.
