Default Skill-it - Earn prizes playing real games

Hey guys, I have recently started up a venture with a small group and we are working on a big project that could be huge and awesome.

Heres my pitch ive posted all over facebook
Got a question for everyone ..... Would you use a mobile app that allowed you to play skill oriented games like Fruit Ninja or Tetris against others if you could win money and prizes within 15 - 30 seconds?

Follow our page if you are interested, I have some big things planned.

also, if you want to be useful, I have a survey you could fill in with helpful details that would let me find out my target audience and what they are looking for.

Pretty much, you play against other human players and compete for prizes on a grand scale. The entrance fee is mere cents or even nothing depending on advertisements and the prizes range between movie tickets to even sports cars (yes, real cars). If you want to simplify this, its like the grownups version of Timezone where you play for prizes on games you can actually win.

I am currently at a Business Startup event and this idea was voted in the top 8 of almost 100 ideas to compete for funding. The more people that join the group, the more likely this idea can get off the ground. The contest isnt even over yet and ive already got at least two investors that want to talk to me as well as offers from people begging to work on this project after the event.

After the event I have offers from several retailers offering their wares as prizes and I plan to take it even bigger and go for huge worthwhile prizes like holidays, cars... hell even houses... the scope is just that big.

    Is this gambling?
This is gambling in the same sense that Timezone is gambling. So no. Because I will be offering games of Skill rather than games of chance, this is just a profitable game for everyone... not a casino.

This seems like a great idea (although) you will have to have a lot of competing people to give away things like cars and still keep plenty of profit for yourself

I don't get the concept of giving out a house :s that's kinda generic

If I could give someone a car just for playing a few little games, you can rest assured the marketing that would generate would well and truly pay for the car just on its own

So how much money is a game of tetris going to net me? Can you assure me that I'm not going to be playing against a bot who rakes in money all day? How do you hope to get anywhere near the money for a house with an idea like this? I think you are shooting a little too big.
EDIT: Please prove me wrong. I like to see successful people as much as the next.

Very neat idea and you can count me in as a player when this takes off.
Joseph raises some solid questions and I too am interested in learning the answers. Good Luck with the project and I will be sure to follow it as often as possible.

Yeah do link us with the app and make sure you can go multiplatform (Android, Apple, PLAYBOOK!!!) and try to get all platforms to play on the same server. What some companies miss is that they have device specific servers so you cannot play against friends with Android on your Iphone.

There are a few problems here though, the biggest being bots and hackers. For example in games like temple run there are multiple hacks where a person is able to get infinite distance/coins etc. etc.

What XoL said, and can't you emulate phones on your computer -> scripting?
On the flip side, do a captcha every time you want to play and what you have Squig is a great idea. Have you started coding it yet?

Its just in the proposal stage at the moment. I have some very rich investors lined up to talk to me in the near future.

As for hackers and bots. Its all a matter of building the games with them in mind. The games for this platform would be original, or original levels of already popular games. So stopping the bad guys is as easy as pie. Ive made enough bots and hacking software to know how you people work
