    Default Completely re-format of C

Alright, so I want to COMPLETELY re-format my computer of EVERYTHING. Complete reinstall. I have vista, btw.

When I attempted to reinstall and delete all partitions of my hard drive like I did the first time, it said please run from when your logged in because its already installed.
So now I am logged in and stuff, run the disk and now it only let's me repair. I dont want to repair.

So I restart and try to get to a partition manager, nothing.

    !!!

How can I just delete EVERYTHING and reinstall? Vista is turning agaisnt me!! (Please dont comment on that)

Run command prompt and type in:

    C:\Deltree WINDOWS

    deletes operating system

    OR

    C:\Format
    [press enter]
    C:\

Formats hard drive...If I remember the command right...

    Try Active @ Killdisk

(Unless you want to wait a long time, only do a single pass)

It could take a while, depending on the size of your hard drive

Download GParted, the Gnome Partition manager.
There's a live CD so you don't need to install anything.
I made a new script, check it out!.

Only 2 solutions I know of are:

    - Get an Ubuntu Linux CD, and delete all partitions and install Ubuntu.

    or

    - Get a Windows XP CD, and delete all partitions and install XP.

Same concept; both CDs will allow you to delete all previous partition installations and both CDs will install their specified OS.

Tbh I don't recommend Vista; it's gay lel.

Yea, I kinda realized Vista isn't all it's cracked up to be, but a little after the fact.

Do you reccomend I stick to XP? How can I reinstall that? I have no XP CD.

Either way, I used DBAN from SourceForge and completely wiped the whole thing >
    Now I'm reinstalling vista (*sigh*)

Only way to completely erase all the data would be to fill the hard drive with 0's , good luck with that. Start from dos boot disk to do format C:, also if you don't know how to do it correctly type format /?. Should give all the parameters.

From there your on your own about figuring out how to fill it with 0's, there's programs that will do it.

After that set your bios to boot from CD and then pop in Vista CD.

Just read other post that you got it already. So i figured i'd still leave main post for anyone looking for something like that. Sorry.

I have it too. I had to do a clean install (reformat, install XP and then Vista) to install it. But since then it works great and I'm sticking with it.
