Dual boot for sure. With a live CD anything you save when running it gets deleted when you restart.

Umm usually preference for which linux you want. I personally use ubuntu.

I was actually wondering about doing that because then when I script, start up windows. But I still think Linux is super confusing, :P So I dunno if I could run it all the time.

Go for the dual boot. Be sure to defrag your harddisk and use a good partition manager (Gparted) to free some space on your hd (there's a resize option without losing your data).
Then start up the installer of your distro (I recommend ubuntu or something like that) and it should automatically suggest a dualboot instalation.
Then, when you start up, you'll get a nice boot menu and you can choose between Linux and Windows.
I made a new script, check it out!.

I was looking thru my linux book today and it says that having 2 HDDs is a common option.

    Gentoo owns all <3

Ubuntu's made of shit. For a first time user I suggest Debian.

Personally, I used to use Ubuntu, got rid of it though.
I liked it, and I also got Guild Wars runnin' under Wine
hmmm, i agree with everyone else, dual-boot...I think ubuntu partitions the drive for you and it's easy enough.
Dual boot with 2 hard drives requires a cable(i think it was master/slave drives, right?)
GParted works really well, and I'd recommend that as well.

    Bueno Suerte(good luck)

I currently triple boot with LINUX/xp/vista on my main comp, currently running fedora core 6(not so happy with, great visuals but finicky)
but i was very happy with mandriva 2006(they have mandriva 2007 now)
I'm switching back to mandriva, IMHO better than ubuntu, red hat, or any other. GREAT OS!! I recommend it highly.

PS: i am triple booting with three seperate HD's (two is the same principle.) if you do this and install mandriva last(as the boot drive), it will set up the bootloader(GRUB or LILO) where it boots to linux, then gives you an OS choice menu with your windows/mac drives already detected.
