Default Runescape was unable to enter that display mode.

    Hello,

After wasting several hours on trying to set up Simba again on a new computer, I became desperate.

So basically the last thing I struggle with is selecting the Open Gl mode.
Like several guides say I installed jre and added a path to the environment variables like this, (the jre path in front of the jdk one)

Deleted all my jagex related files several times and reloaded the game, which resulted back to the first image.
Like someone else posted on the forums my Simba folder is installed(standard) at C//.

Does anyone else have any suggestions I can try?

Yes I tried that several times, same result as the first photo.
I think there is still something wrong with my PATH, or java.
The path I use is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_45\bin

Your path looks fine; I don't think it's a Java PATH issue.
As for installing Simba to C://Simba - I don't do that and I don't have your issue, so I also don't think that's the issue.

Can you open OGL mode in browser-based RS3?

Installing Simba to C://Simba is standard so I don't think that's the issue either.
I'm not able to run it in OGL in my browser.

I have both 32 and 64 bit versions of jdk and jre installed, and java 7u45.
I've read that I only need the 32bit jre, so I'm going to try and delete all those unnecessary programs.

Try deleting the Jdk part of the path? Ogl runs in Jre only iirc

Yes I know that and I tried that before.
Reinstalled everything again according to the guide,I'm able to choose DirectX but not ogl..
    Getting frustrated atm seriously.

    Some questions,
why don't you have to refer to java in the path name?
How does Windows know it has to use the path when you add it?(because I had to make it myself, it wasn't there)

Wondering if it has to do something with Windows 8, been through all of this with 7 and I experienced no problems at all...

I did not update my graphic driver, as you can see in the link below there are no drivers for Windows 8, only 7.

    What I get now is:
I click on the Ogl button, a screen pops up saying that my display has changed and if I want to keep this settings.
When I press yes, DirectX is still activated, not Ogl...

As for how Java knows to use the PATH variable, certain built in commands use that variable and it is only needed from a developer's aspect. But since we are an open source community, we run things as developers - which is why it is needed to be added for simba nowadays.

As for OGL not activating... I had that exact issue on my Windows 8 machine, and I'm not sure I ever fixed it before just using my Windows 7 machine (which I still use now...).

I've done some research about my graphics driver, now what I found out is that I can't update my driver to the latest version (which 9/10 would resolve my issue).
It's just that Intel has updates for all operating systems EXCEPT Windows 8.

I expected there would be some solution but I guess there isn't...

Thanks for all replies but here it ends, I give up.

Do you have a particular reason for sticking with Windows 8? Or at the very least not using a VM of Windows 7? (I hate Windows 8 so far)

Well I had Windows 7, but I broke the hard disk a couple of weeks ago.
A friend fixed it and the only OS he had available was Windows 8, IMO it is almost completely the same because I have Classic Explorer installed.
The Windows 7 Serial key faded so I had to buy another OS, called Microsoft but they said they couldn't do anything about it.

Didn't expect this to happen, maybe I'll install Windows 7 for a few days.

Edit: Running Simba in a browser now using DirectX.
