    Default New computer..

Soo a new computer will replace the current desktop I use (family computer).. not exactly my decision but not my stuff not my rules

    Current: 4 processors, 4 GB of RAM @ 2.40 GHz (intel i7)

New: 2 processors, 6 GB of RAM @ 1.75 GHz (AMD whatever the hell they call it)

So... GF I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY DAD WANTS TO REPLACE A COMPUTER WITH ONE THAT IS LITERALLY HALF THE SPEED RAGE RAGE RAGE THE CURRENT ONE WAS FINE NOW I GET TO HEAR 2X MORE OF MY MOM WHINING ABOUT HOW SLOW THE COMPUTER IS, X2 BECAUSE IS X2 SLOWER

I'm not mad because the new computer is slow(not mad at all). I'm just disappointed that I will have to use one that is slower when we already had one that is faster (much faster). There was just no need for a change

Watching a 480p youtube video takes up a third of the CPU. Shouldn't be hard.

Not buying a wifi card, the computer isn't worth putting anymore money into

You would be surprised how cheap you can get outdated computer parts. Imo it would be worth dropping $40 into for wifi.

You can get wifi for card for under $5 USD on ebay or dealextreme...worth it for an i7. Take off the case, clean the dust, reformat and there you go! Good as new!

Download windows onto usb stick (netbootin to make it bootable), boot off it (or off your windows DVD) and it will tell you what to do from there. HINT: BACK UP UR CRAP
EDIT: Then use ninite.com to speed up installing all your programs (go there first, even before downloading chrome)

It is a handy site!! One slight annoyance I have with it (but probably very fixable) is that if you select skype for example to autostart with computer boot, that option won't be selected in the skype option menu, and will start with the computer regardless if that option is selected or not, aka I decide I don't want skype to start with computer boot but it always will lol (I think I fixed this with selective startup though)
