Well as long as we're discussing visual processing (includes animation reading) with color bots, I'd say this is on topic. RiD claims to utilize visual processing with Genesis, and any discussion regarding how that could be done or why it is useful would be relevant.

So, my question is, utilizing visual processing (no game code analysis), how would one create a dynamic animation reader that can identify the animations of objects/NPCs/monsters/etc on the fly. Basically, assuming these animations are being recognized during a calibration session (bot watches you play for 30-60 minutes), how would one go about being able to write a generic way of doing this so that it can identify any number of different animations (e.g. objects/NPCs/monsters/etc) without requiring separate code for each animation sequence.

    Example:
    Botting Impetuous Impluses:

The initial draft of the bot may have trouble with hedges because this is not a typical means of navigation, that could be overcome very trivially but I wouldn't expect it in the first draft.
In this example the visual processing code would need to be able to accurately identify every imp within this mini-game without specifically writing code for any of the imps or their animations.

This same code would need to be able to be used on other things, such as identifying every monster and portal within Pest Control. So, the point is, it needs to be dynamic enough to support virtually any situation's potential animations.

Let me know if any of the above doesn't make sense, if my wording is ambiguous, or if anything needs clarification.

So it seems. It's also the last section of Genesis he must complete.

Sceptical isn't the word. Trent is a true RiD fanboy, I've had a recent 'discussion' over there with him, from the discussion I have made the assumption RiD is his god. I used RiD previously I liked the bot. Genesis on the other hand was supposed to be out already, its funny that you can still buy unlimited though, was supposed to be a limited time offer. Spend £200 for something that may not exist!? Seems fishy to me. All the stuff that RiD is claiming Genesis will do could be made here I'm pretty sure of it. Another thing, anyone who questions RiDs integrity over there are flamed INSTANTLY.
    Only the weak surrender.

It sounds to me as if all he's done is make some code for the interfaces

You must have missed a couple updates then. He finished the visual processing as well as the server-side code.

RiD has just provided another update with the development:

Well it's been a tricky few months, illness, server issues, having to scrap whole sections of code in favor of other designs, but I'm now close to making my first bots with Genesis.

The first bots will be rather basic, they will perform arbitrary desktop activities. This will allow me to isolate and test various modules of the functionality.
And then, I will move on to more complex tasks.

It's still tricky to put a date on it, but it's been 'to be announced' for a while, and the approx date has been horribly inaccurate, and not properly updated, or very tangible.
But we are now at a point where I am more able to set some targets.
I will be aiming for a Summer 2014 release, to be more specific, mid/late July.

Although the sooner the better, so if I have any chance to get it out before then without compromising on quality, I will do.

Thank you for your patience everyone, and hopefully understanding the nature of constructing this project.

Yeah, thanks to some newly revived content in the members section, DG/slayer/advanced combat scripts will be relatively very easy to make for us compared to what we were working with a few months ago.

Is it the opengl thing with IDs? And I take it other members aren't allowed to use it until we gain access to members+?

Ironic that you state this after countless Villavu users claim that "if I can't see it, it doesn't exist" in this very thread. I also don't recall asking you to leak anything in the first place...

Many strange and mysterious things exist in the higher tiers of these forums.

comparing genesis' validity, which is based on the consistently changing word of one person, to the validity of something else, which is based on the word of hundreds...

you caught us. we actually have a discussion thread in members+ on how we can collectively lie on this thread so we can be cool

oops I leaked that too. time for a ban

I'm not comparing validity at all. I'm trying to put you in our shoes. It gets annoying as we constantly get people telling us that Genesis doesn't exist and will never release. We've had initiates, who hadn't payed a cent and even veterans who got their status completely through free botting constantly complain and try to rile up others, while those who have spent hundreds of dollars on the site are perfectly content waiting. I for one, trust RiD and would rather wait for a quality product. The last thing I'd want to do is rush a developer.

Probably the most hilarious instance was when an initiate tried to tell everyone who bought unlimited that he had inside info that RiD was scamming people and that everyone should dispute the charge. what makes that funny is that RiD has and still is giving refunds to people who bought unlimited and ask for one.

I understand. I'm a vet on RiD, paid for all of it except probably a few hours when there was free botting, and never complain. I look forward to genesis. My perspective has just changed a lot about botting on RS after learning how to script here. What I once thought was 'super advanced' now seems like a kind of touched up, more marketed simba script. RiD used to impress me so much, until I learned how things actually work, and now I'm really not impressed at all.

Initiates say the darndest things, don't they.

It sounds like you're discounting the opinions of members of your forum because they have not paid money to RiD. It is understandable that those who have spent lots of money on something would want to defend their purchase. The thing about not rushing the developer I understand completely. What I don't understand is when the developer is collecting money for something that so far off in the future they couldn't say when they'd be done. The instance of that person who claimed they had "inside info" is pretty funny, probably just looking for attention.

Just to be clear: Nothing against any of you personally, you seem like good people, but sometimes your unquestioning support of RiD confuses me.

RiD is a very good marketer, but as far as programming god I have no comment as I have never ventured off of this forum. I'm interested in this new technology though, sounds like fun writing it.
