    Default Opengl is not working

Whenever I select Opengl, the window fades. I do have the latest version of Java.

Thanks, let me know if you know the solution.

Indeed. May I know what Java version you are using? I have looked around net, one person who had similar problem had uninstalled the java, then installed the old version, but that version was so old, that it is unavailable now.

I very much doubt java would stop OpenGL from working in rs.

    Could be a contributing factor.

Only feasible way to get this fixed is if you get someone else to teamview you and try debug the problem that way.

Does Direct X work? if it does then we can rule out Java being the problem.

Nevertheless Java 8 FTW, Uhhh can't exactly link it you but:

    Windows x86 45.87 MB jre-8u5-windows-i586.tar.gz

I would reinstall the video drivers from the manufacturer site.

There were many reports of opengl problems with runescape a while back. I had a bad machine myself, never tried to fix it. Mixed results with people removing runescape/cache/etc.

#1: If it does NOT work in the browser, SMART and the plugin has no way of fixing that. If you get it working in the browser, then troubleshooting it otherwise is fairly easy.

If it doesn't work in the browser or official client or both, you have a driver and/or java problem. That much is true.

If it is a java problem, most likely JDK is in your path before JRE and RS + OpenGL doesn't play nicely with that.
