To the people that think the list is crap or incomplete -- that's irrelevant. The list is there for newer users get and idea of the history of RS cheating and some of the people involved. Yes, some things may be inaccurate; clearly it's a work in progress. If something is wrong or inaccurate, you provide the correct content, so maybe the list will become accurate and complete.

There's obviously going to be dependencies. Think about how many different communities and bots there have been over the years; each built or inspired from the previous. Different people from different communities are going to remember things differently, or have a different opinion for different people.

Whether you think someone should be on the list or not doesn't matter -- that person clearly did something memorable; it could be good or bad, but memorable nonetheless. The history of RS cheating has its dark corners, just like everything else, and the people in those corners are just as much a part of the history as everyone else.

Hitler is remembered for doing something extraordinary. Evil and terrible, yes, but extraordinary. He will always be a part of history, just as much as the "heroes".

Oh yeah, I think Pockets from Sythe should be listed somewhere new the bottom, not for anything spectacular but he was also someone who bypassed the Clusterflutter after that big bot nuke. While people praise Jacmob for being the only one, Pockets was at least another to do it shortly after, and he had sold his reflection-based bot privately on Sythe for a very steep amount.

I should be added for creating the very first divination script in the history of runescape. Although very few people got it to work because it required its own include edits, it did work and got me to 50-some divination without any of my own effort. I am a great man in the eyes of scripters

And yes I am joking - it's a good idea to try and do, just might be hard to get all of the important stuff

I think it's simply more of how Ashaman was just joking around and probably didn't even look at the list, and everyone else feels slighted in some manner because at some level, some of the people on that list were simply script developers, and there are an absolute TON of us who have created decently high level (or high quantity (or both *cough* Ashaman *cough*)). And then there are the unsung heroes like our very own Olly who has contributed a cubic f*** ton to simba recently, including some light Tesseract work that I think Slacky started.

In the end, why do some script devs get recognition, and not others?

I think it's also important to note that arm's forum time isn't set to same time zone as pbot's. I think Mr. Wu-Tang is only about an hour off... in the direction of Wu winning.

Because what started out as a thread that had some decent, if at times wrong, content turned into a thread that had anyone who has done anything bot or updater related in the last 2-3 years regardless of whether they have contributed anything to rs hacking/reverse engineering scene. Most people on that list don't deserve to be on it.

Nope, my pbot and villavu forum time are the same.

I'm more than content with only keeping something like that to the highest tiers of 'This guy wrote a full bot' or 'This guy pioneered this technique of detection' or something along those lines.

Individual devs get the recognition on the individual scripts they write. But if you want to start saying 'oh this guy wrote a good miner script', then what about the guys who did something significantly bigger than that? I have no problems with limits, but if you're gonna exemplify the little guys, at least show off the guys bigger than them.

That's what I mean, people that have developed scripts shouldn't really feature on that list. Some of the others shouldn't really if it's an appreciation thread, some have developed bots, but it's pretty much a re-packaged version of what other people have done.
