Since it's already necro'd, I also love using f.lux. I got it about 2 months ago to help my eyes relax at night(I sit in an office with no sun and only florescent light), and it's wonderful. Used to have headaches as a result of eye strain from the bright screen at night(even though it looks so nice) and now I don't get them anymore.

Wow I find the orange hue for nighttime almost attractive! Thanks for showing me this it will definitely help when I'm up late doing schoolwork (I have a 3rd term for college whereas everyone else is done now )

EDIT: This program changes the actual temperature of the screen? If so is this safe for my laptop screen? Does this use extensive battery?

EDIT2: YOOOOOOOO!!!!! After a few hours with this on, my laptop is so much more... mellow? IDK but reading is so much more soothing and I feel way more relaxed when browsing. Thank you so much for introducing me~!

That's true. I took a look at it but f.lux's GUI is enough to make up for the botnet.

Oh dude, I'd never put it in darkroom mode, the red is just awkward for me, lol. Are you only using it in darkroom mode, or are you using the regular functionality?

What makes you believe that f.lux is a botnet? Also, let's be fair, there's no need to create another topic on f.lux just to talk about it when there's one right here...

That's the exact same experience I had.

That's exactly why f.lux is so awesome. The default colour temperature of your monitor is higher than the sun, staring at that when the rest of your room is pitch black is the exact opposite of healthy. Glad you like it so much and are getting so much benefit out of it.

Stopped using darkroom after I realized it made it impossible to distinguish colours. Started using regular mode (2300K at night) and I love it. Really awesome.

I prefer Cf.Lumen for android. Unlike twilight, it isn't a filter.

Seems in the description it uses the filter plenty of times? :S

I'm glad you like it. Pretty much everyone I've told about it has either grown to love it or loved it straight away, lol.

Reading this got me to go into the settings after a long time and switch it a notch lower to 2700K and enable the 60 minute transition.
And it's great news that f.lux comes with built-in botnet support. Never knew.

Lrn2git/g/ud. loljk. Just anything closed source = confirmed botnet, for future reference. According to /g/.
I've been using f.lux for years now, and I love it. Haven't had twilight on my phone/tablet until recently, just maybe 3 or 4 months ago, and they're quite useful there too.
Makes nighttime browsing so much easier on the eyes, I love it. +1 for this thread and for f.lux.

I figured it was something like that, but that's just ridiculous.
