    Default Leechers

I was googling something, I don't remember anymore and I came out at mpgh runescape scripts section. Guess what I found: A section dedicated to Simba . And they're not even trying to hide that they're leeching it.
Is there nothing we can do to stop leechers?

Maybe, but that doesn't mean they're not doing it anymore.
And if they're not doing it anymore there's probably another site doing it.

What can you do about a thread layout? It's really nothing. Look at osbot or one of the new botting sites, nearly all their site rules and home page is copied from powerbot. If they don't do anything about it, I doubt we could.

I'm not talking about thread layout, he copied the script pasted it there.

I don't care if he steals the thread layout, it's about the script

I think you have to pick your battles. I'm sure if this community really wanted it taken down there would be legal action the admins could take, especially given the apparent "copy/paste" format that seems to be implied by your post and the pic. (I didn't actually go there to see, so I don't know how much is actually copied). But I think given the nature of this community, and the statements contained within, their is really nothing we can/should do about it. If fact it is plainly stated that we acknowledge the leechers, and for them to consider these scripts a gift. (can't find the thread right now, but it's here.)

It would be a different story if this community was revenue-based and people were stealing our work, but it's not. I think we just need to acknowledge the fact that, given the global nature of the internet and no real governing body, nothing is safe on the internet. No matter how many copyrights you put on it. It sucks, but it's just the way it is.

If you see a script that you made on there you could report the post to the mods there or something if you don't want it there, but I don't think it's that big of a deal really.

Considering that there's only 5 Simba script there (and 1 of them was put there by the creator), all of them are outdated, and only one is from this year, I wouldn't worry.

    It's not even a problem.

    Those scripts are -all- outdated.

    Leeching isn't a rule.

(no one look at my awful script, I can't remove it.)

MGPH is a community literally 80% built on leeching from other sites. I'm not at all surprised.
GitLab projects | Simba 1.4 | Find me on IRC or Discord | ScapeRune scripts | Come play bot ScapeRune!

<BenLand100> we're just in the transitional phase where society reclassifies guns as Badâ„¢ before everyone gets laser pistols

I agree with Gunner, the nature of this community, from my experience, is one of open learning and the sharing of resources and information. Even if the scripts were up-to-date, the user would still have to come here to download and properly install Simba, and would then be like any other leech if they didn't decide to stick around and contribute.

It's really not that big of a deal.

Personally if my script was posted somewhere else I'd be flattered
It looks more like this site is intentionally posting other people's work as a way of sharing rather than claiming they made it.

If they sold our work as their own that would be a different story.
