Default CHAPPIE: A new film from the director of District 9 and Elysium

If you didn't know, Neill Blomkamp is a relatively new director who made his film debut with the critically acclaimed District 9, followed by the similarly successful Elysium. He is also my favourite director.

    The trailer for CHAPPIE:

If you're interested in Blomkamp's short films, here you go:

    Tetra Vaal, 2004

Alive in Joburg, 2005, the concept for District 9:

    Tempbot, 2006:

    Yellow, 2006:

I liked District 9, but Elysium was just kind of not good enough. I feel like Chappie is going to be a disappointment as well

Word, it's one of the worst movies I've tried to watch. I didn't like Elysium either, and Chappie seems like more garbage.

district 9 was cool cause it had a meaning(the aliens are black people irl during the apartheid). It's also an entertaining movie, lotsa shooting.

Elysium was just a bad copy of it, and this one looks its going kind of in the same direction, but has seems to have a different touch to it.. dunno, but they are definetly not BAD movies, you can dislike them all you want though :P

A bad copy? Elysium focussed on societal class structures and the divide between the rich and poor, it was nothing like District 9.

I don't know how people could think District 9 was bad though, it was filmed in a unique way, began as a mockumentary, and seamlessly transitioned into an action movie without the viewer realising that it had changed.

As for CHAPPIE, it's even less like District 9 than Elysium, lol.
