If people haven't seen. There is a poll going on which is: If bonds are added we'll add F2P :/

Faith is an oasis in the heart which will never be reached by the caravan of thinking.
I know when I started playing back in like 08 after a week of f2p I knew I wanted more and bought members, so having permanent f2p is not needed and I believe the 2 week free trial is sufficient enough.
Idk if someone here already stated this: The current poll results shows only 14% against F2P at the moment. So I we can assume f2p will be here soon.

I don't know how this will work out, but knowing that the RWT value of gold in osrs is about ten times higher than that in rs3 (I'm not a gold farmer by the way), amount of incoming bots will probably be much higher than the amount of legitimate new players. If a legit f2p player will want to play osrs, he/she will be disgusted by the amount of farmers around them.
If Jagex is to implement f2p osrs (probably will be due to votes), then I hope they have a new bot-detection technology ready, or osrs is dead on arrival (greed of powerban and epicbot users is almost unlimited).
I think it'll bring more people & people who already pay for membership will continue to.. while maybe having even more accounts now since they can have free ones

Osrs will need to increase their bot detection systems. If accounts can farm enough money and buy bonds for basically free, the amount of bots in f2p will increase tremendously. It's a gold farmers dream. I like how they added trade restrictions, but it only applies for new accounts, so it wont stop much.
Someone should keep track of prices of raw materials like lobsters/oaks/yews(if they aren't disabled)/ores to see if the bot fear is being realized.
Anyone saying way more bots is not really true, I run a gold farm and I litteraly have gone through 40 accounts wcing oaks in 2 days, and 20 farming cowhides in less then 48 hours. The accounts do not last long jagex almost rapes them, and any traded account rapes that to.

So now that F2P is coming to OSRS for certain, does anyone else think that the gap in value between EOC gold and OSRS will decrease? I feel that it might eventually be more profitable to bot on RS3
Depends on the amount of bots that f2p will introduce, personally I think that the gaps will close slightly but the price of OSRS gold will always be higher than RS3 gold.
RS3 has had more than a decade to stabilize its prices, but OSRS has only been out for a few (two?) years. I'm sure some are still part of the scene who remember when RS2 gold was the price OSRS gold is now...

I think f2p osrs is a good idea. it opens 07 scape for more people and makes it a bigger community.
Well this will bring so many botter in to the game, hope they fix there anti botting system to ban all those f2p mass botters.

Yea, for those that haven't heard, you cannot trade on a f2p account until it has 24 hours game in time. I guess by then they assume bots would have reached the top of queue for client detection and be banned. Believe there is also some restrictions on yew/lobs but not 100% positive.
