Default What do you consider your most valuable ability as a coder?

I consider my "valuable" ability: to *pop into existence* communities for groups/clans/guilds/friends as well as participate, learn and teach.

this is from my web, server and database knowledge

My second one would be to analyze situations in different ways.

This is from just coding logic in general.

What do you consider your most valuable, to you.. not to "what a(n) employer/professor would think" but what do you enjoy about your abilities and the most valuable one or two and how it's/they've changed how your mind works and what you can offer to yourself or others. What technologies enable these abilities to actually exist?
The only true authority stems from knowledge, not from position.

I can copy and paste like a boss.

It's not gay if it's efficient.

I think my most valuable ability is to create and as you said analyze. I enjoy taking an idea, and putting it into being an actual thing, whether it's a program, report, website, anything where I can code it. I can track almost anything down, bugs or "Why Brett doesn't talk to you". I enjoy the challenge of finding out why things work the way they do, or what went wrong.

I know it's changed my mind to think like a computer, my ex can attest to this. I think too literal, I take everything exactly as someone says, I don't try and figure out what they're trying to say. I treat situations like a program, brainstorming all the ideas of how to handle and what the pros/cons of each way are.

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code. || To be the best, you've got to beat the rest. || Logic never changes, just the syntax.
If you PM me with a stupid question or one listed in FAQ, or about a script that is not mine, I will NOT respond.

I like to create what most people write off as too difficult or not worth the time. I like challenges since they often motivate me to learn new coding techniques and approaches to situations, especially in color scripting.

This has the side effect though of keeping me heavily busy with these mega projects for long periods, rather than a bunch of simplistic releases all the time.

I have a huge tendency to do everything myself and avoid asking for help in favor of figuring it out on my own, even if it takes hours. Sometimes this is a waste of time, other times it is incredibly helpful for me.

I have the urge to always search for the most efficient (time and space) way of coding even if the improvements are minuscule

A coder is one who can utilize the resources in the best possible way, and creating the shortest/shorter ways to attain a goal.
