Actually thats making a dictionary. This is rainbow tables, which is sorta backwards, you make combinations, like bruteforcing, except you do it first, and make the hash first, then all you do later is look through the table and compare. Imagine you had a math test coming up, on multiplication. Instead of learning how to multiply, you just took a calculator, and wrote down the questions and answers for 1x1, 1x2, etc etc, and then at the test, you see a question, and find it on the list you made earlier and see the answer next to it. It's like doing the work now so you don't do as much later.
